This was the first time I stayed at, what was then called, Hotel Star Plaza. It was my home from home during my 2 month travel through India and I stayed there four times. Vishnu, Bharat and Paras were very helpfull, the rooms are fine and the location, just off Main Bazar , is good as a starting point for your travels.
Excellent sercive prit tanwar nd hotel staff room service is very good nd fast i always stay in this hotel i can easily booked room from the help of prit tanwar the rooms are very impressive the food is very tasty
I booked this as we were flying early the next day and just arrived in Delhi.
The room smelt of stale smoke, one of the plug sockets didnt work which was probably why the bedside table lamp wasnt plugged in, although it only had 1 pin so that was broken too.
The shower has a live wire exposed above it for the extractor fan that didnt work.
Once showered it was a nightmare to use the bathroom as everything was soaked, just use a simple glass divider!!
Trying to sleep was impossible, noise from every angle. People shouting in the stairwells all night long and general outside noise. We were on the 3rd floor with the restaurant above and staff seemed to be throwing chairs around all night making a racket.
So after a crap night sleep I tried to open the blinds, low and behold they dont work either.
Wont stay here again.
I chose this hotel because it was described as not typically used by foreign tourist. A word to the wise: While it can be fun to arrive in the middle of the day when the bazar is bustling with activity, the location is pretty desolate at night. Also, the hotel has several names, and the one I booked it under was not the one on the building (nor the one depicted in this image). It was hard to find in the middle of the night.
That being said, the room was clean, the air conditioner worked, and the bathroom was reasonable. The sheets were somewhat stained, so I was glad to be travelling with a sleep sack.
The rooftop restaurant, Spooky, was empty when I ate there and the tables were dusty, suggesting they don't have much sit-down traffic. On the other hand, the Palak Paneer was the very best I ever tasted, suggesting that their claim that they are a popular source of takeout for miles around is probably true.
The "travel agent" with whom I tried to book a train ticket to Agra, did an aggressive upsell despite my insistence that I did not want any help booking the rest of my ticket. Annoying given how exhausted I was! Both the front desk and the travel agent were reluctant to take my credit card, prefering cash, but finally both relented.
All in all a decent budget hotel.
I stayed in hotel star plaza for two nights. The hotel was decently clean, big and quiet rooms, good location if you are looking to stay in the main bazar (a few steps from the main road so a little quieter, though still quite a hectic area), wifi works well and hot water in the shower is abundant. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, I would like to specifically point out Paras who helped me out greatly. Overall I had a nice experience and would recommend this hotel for it's price range.
