Whenever I visit New Delhi, I stay at the Taj. My experience has always been excellent with this hotel.

The Mansingh Taj has an excellent location and has a grand lobby. The staff is excellent and helpful. The rooms are not what one would expect -from the dated interiors ,old crt TV and not working switches.

We have stayed at many hotels over the years, often luxury ones with impeccable details and fantastic designs. Price-wise Taj Mahal is on par with these better-class hotels. But the comparison fails: It is the perceptive and friendly service that makes it worthwhile staying in this small family-run hotel. The owners and staff are social at just the right level and they go to great length to make you feel at home. In the afternoon, the staff would bring out snacks and coffee for guests who had opted to spend the day in the shade of the palm trees in the little garden. At no charges. Even my family, who did not stay in the hotel, was received with open arms and exceptionally generously when they came to visit. The owner even offered us to invite them all (ten people) to the hotel’s garden for the celebration of my father’s birthday. For the occasion they had prepared home-baked cake, snacks and a fantastically thoughtful gift. This said, there is nothing wrong with the facilities. The room we had was spacious and pretty, the breakfast is good and the distance to the beach is limited. The garden may be small, but it’s a relaxing and a quiet place – one where you really don’t mind spending an afternoon or two with a good book. And as many people have written before. Taj Mahal is a place you would definitely come back to and recommend to your friends. It was so pleasant.

I love this hotel. The service is excellent and staff is very courteous. Rooms are clean although a bit old. But the overall experience is simply fabulous and therefore one tends to overlook small issues.

It was a very hectic business travel, finished meetings at 11.15 pm had to set out next morning at 8 am for meetings in the city and to go to airport straight. late but sweet sleep in cozy room, bed, nice view from 11th floor made me 100% fresh. worth paying the price.

It is a bit of a drive from the airport, but offers a convenient and secured location to all the major tourists sites. The staff was personable and professional. The concierge staff is great. Although I did arrive two hours before my check-in time, the staff checked me into my room only to inform me 15 minutes later after settling in that I would need to leave my room and wait in the lobby until my check-in time to avoid paying for an extra day. The management staff was adamant about this irrespective of the fact that the room was available at the time I settled in, and I would have been placed in the same exact room two hours later. Also, the room came across pretty basic for a branded luxury hotel. Really good breakfast buffet.

Business class with inconsistent service Business class with inconsistent service

Well located in the diplomatic neighborhood This is more a business class hotel with a strong buzz of business everywhere rather than 'old world luxury". The public areas are beautiful. Unfortunately the 1st impression of this property was not good at all. The hotel completely mismanaged my request for appropriate transport. Had I not insisted on appropriate steps being taken to ensure a decent transfer finally from the airport to the hotel, my arrival would have been worse. My complaint to the resident manager and subsequent response by email was a textbook response which basically meant nothing would be done. The deluxe king rooms are cosy. But are seriously in need of a complete update. Bathrooms are small and are also long overdue for an upgrade. All day dining is at Machan. A very comfortable dining room. Breakfast buffet is very good. It can get busy and that's when service levels drop. A la carte lunch and dinner offer a good variety of Indian and Western dishes. The Indian food is good but not the best. Prices are high. Service is inconsistent. House of Ming is beautiful. Service is excellent. But the quality of the cuisine can only be described as average and not commensurate with the prices. I think that one is really paying for the ambiance and the service. The concierge service is good provided you know what you want them to deliver. Otherwise it may be patchy. This hotel could start to make a difference if the staff made that little bit of effort to be genuine in wanting to please the guest rather than efficient and robotic.

Great Stay! Great Stay!

A fabulous stay. The staff went out of their way to help us feel welcome and more than special. The attention to detail was exceptional. I wish all of our hotel stays could be as lovely as this one was.
