Whenever I visit New Delhi, I stay at the Taj. My experience has always been excellent with this hotel.

The Mansingh Taj has an excellent location and has a grand lobby. The staff is excellent and helpful. The rooms are not what one would expect -from the dated interiors ,old crt TV and not working switches.

We have stayed at many hotels over the years, often luxury ones with impeccable details and fantastic designs. Price-wise Taj Mahal is on par with these better-class hotels. But the comparison fails: It is the perceptive and friendly service that makes it worthwhile staying in this small family-run hotel. The owners and staff are social at just the right level and they go to great length to make you feel at home. In the afternoon, the staff would bring out snacks and coffee for guests who had opted to spend the day in the shade of the palm trees in the little garden. At no charges. Even my family, who did not stay in the hotel, was received with open arms and exceptionally generously when they came to visit. The owner even offered us to invite them all (ten people) to the hotel’s garden for the celebration of my father’s birthday. For the occasion they had prepared home-baked cake, snacks and a fantastically thoughtful gift. This said, there is nothing wrong with the facilities. The room we had was spacious and pretty, the breakfast is good and the distance to the beach is limited. The garden may be small, but it’s a relaxing and a quiet place – one where you really don’t mind spending an afternoon or two with a good book. And as many people have written before. Taj Mahal is a place you would definitely come back to and recommend to your friends. It was so pleasant.

Good intro to India Good intro to India

by paul1953uk on November 23, 2016

This was our first visit to India and our first hotel. The hotel makes a very good initial impression. The rooms were large and well equipped with good bathrooms and a lovely bed. I had a haircut the first morning and it was excellent and not expensive. We tried three of the restaurants and the food in each of them was excellent. The staff in all the restaurants were superb especially the Machan. On our first day the Machan had a buffet and the theme was Indian street food. The waiters and the chef took time out to explain the various dishes and even prepared an extra dish for us. The Ming had delicious Chinese food and great staff. The Varq offered fine dining Indian style. It took a little time to be served as the restaurant was full but the wait was worth it. The young ladies at concierge were superb and arranged cars and shopping. There were a couple of issues. We had a great room on the 11th floor and our daughters were on the fourth. Their room had a musty smell. They tried to change it to the third floor but that room was not any better. We would suggest getting a room on the higher floors. We initially stayed three nights and then came back a few days later for another night. The staff on the reception seems to be distracted on our second visit. We were asked to sit in the lobby area. Two other guests arrived and they were dealt with immediately. We were then given two rooms on the third floor even though we had specifically asked for rooms on the 11th floor when we arrived and when we had left after our first visit. Eventually we were found two rooms on the 11th floor but the staff did not seem too amused. As we were finally arranging the rooms the receptionist decided to have a chat with another guest and simply ignored us for a few minutes. This was a pity as it is an excellent hotel and staff in all the other areas were superb.

Superb hospitality! Superb hospitality!

With grand and luxurious accommodations, and professional, friendly and pressure-free staff, I felt like royalty in this hotel! I stayed, in fact, in four Taj Locations during my 28-day tour in India, and while none disappointed, the service and grandeur of this Dehli location stood out. A five-star hotel in America cannot even come close to this luxury; Simply OUTSTANDING!!

Wonderful hotel from which to experience India Wonderful hotel from which to experience India

The Taj Hotel offers visitors to India - tourists and business travellers alike - a wonderful experience. The hotel is well located and close to a range of business and commercial venues. It is also close to markets which offer travellers a good experience of the culture of India. The hotel has excellent amenities including a very good gym. The views from the hotel are spectacular. The food is great and the service is very good.

This is what a real luxury hotel should be. Worth every penny. This is what a real luxury hotel should be. Worth every penny.

I cannot recommend highly enough this gorgeous and classic hotel. The physical spaces are so beautiful, but the real jewel in the crown is the service. I have travelled a lot, but I have never encountered before such a strong and consistent commitment to the very highest and most generous level of service and care, as I did at this hotel. Not only were ALL the staff so kind to me, helping me in large and small ways, but the hotel also took great care of me when I got sick. I was traveling alone and got very dehydrated very quickly with diarrhea after a meal OUTSIDE the hotel. When I called for help, not only did they call a doctor who arrived with the medicine I needed, but they also had him return 6 hours later to chart my progress. I recovered quickly. When I checked out, I found that they had not even charged me for the doctor or the medicine. Now, that, ladies and gentlemen, is called taking care of your guests. I couldn't believe it. There are many beautiful places to stay in Delhi, but I cannot imagine anywhere else in town with such a long and strong history of fine service like this. It is luxury, but you can find deals. They fresh flowers and notes from housekeeping every day were such a lovely touch. Treat yourself to the Taj!!

Great place to stay on our first visit to New Delhi Great place to stay on our first visit to New Delhi

by JTokar on November 16, 2016

We took our first trip to India in October and started the excursion with several nights at the Taj Mahal in New Delhi. We loved the ambiance of the Taj -- like a step back to an elegant time. The location of the hotel was great to get to see the sites in New Delhi such as India Gate and the Lodhi Gardens. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. And everyone at the hotel was very pleasant and helpful. We really appreciated the quick turn around on our laundry as we had been traveling alot prior to our stop in New Delhi and were eager to get fresh clothing. We also enjoyed several delicious meals at Varq.
