lovely gardens lovely gardens

by penelope_pit_stop123 on February 5, 2017

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport and stayed here twice during January. The gardens are lovely and very well maintained. The drive to the hotel entrance was very grand and a big fuss was made when our car pulled up. Several people helped get our luggage out of the car and everything (including ourselves) were sent through security scanners. After check in we were taken to our room which was freezing and in hindsight I should have asked for extra bedding because I was cold in the night. The rooms were very nice with a big comfy bed. Our first room was 207 and had no hot water, our second room was 220 and had good hot water. The food was very good and evening meal and breakfast were buffet. The restaurant doesn't have a nice ambience about it. I think it should improve its lighting. The reason I give only average ratings is because I think its very overpriced. For 1 night standard room with breakfast and the evening meal for 2 plus an airport taxi cost 132. When i received my bill I could not believe the amount of added surcharges and taxes of which half of them I had no idea what they were for. Also another thing to note. I pay using a mastercard which gives a very good exchange rate if I pay in local currency. On both occasions when I checked out, I asked to pay by card in rupees. They swore blind that I was doing exactly that, but my statement shows that they did the conversion themselves and I paid in pounds at not a good rate. It was a nice place to stay, see if you can find a bargain on the internet which perhaps includes the overpriced buffets. We had free wifi but normally they charge 500 rupees for 24 hours.

I found this hotel in booking.com because I needed an hotel not far from the airport. When I arrived it was like entering a garden. Hotel was very clean and welcome was very worme. Room was very big and all facilatys where avalebal.every request was answered and servos was very good. Breckfast was very rich and with a lot of selections. I really enjoyed myself at this hotel it's most recommend.

Quiet and greenish hotel adjacent to New Delhi Airport. Services and breakfast are not excellent, however; it could be categorized in satisfactory rating. Hotel staffs are friendly and surrounding is very green and providing nice and peaceful stay.

Poor Poor

by nickybarr1 on February 3, 2017

This hotel is completely soulless. The restaurant had the atmosphere of a funeral parlour and the promotion posted all over the hotel was apparently only available to look at and not to eat. The hardest beds we've ever come across and at one point we considered piling cushions and covers on the floor in search of comfort. It is all looks but little delivered. Definitely wouldn't book with them again!

Disappointed. Disappointed.

Yesterday evening, I joined a group of my old Belgian and French clients for dinner. Since it was a Farewell dinner, at the end of a very good tour of Rajasthan, I invited them for drinks because I wanted them to taste Indian wine. I was told that they have two types of wine, Nine Hills being one of them. I asked the waiter to show me the bottle of Nine Hills, he showed me an empty bottle. All my group members had a hearty laugh seeing the empty bottle. He said he needs 10 minutes to get a bottle of wine from their store. We waited. When the wine came, the waiter poured it in everyones glasses without offering wine to taste. When I asked him if he has got another bottle or two of Nine Hills because we might need more, he said he will again have to go to the store to get them. But at least, now he had time to go to the store till we finished our first drink. For some days, we had been asking for the dinner menu, for which they said they will give it on the last day and we were told it cannot be changed. The menu included Chinese sweet corn soup, grilled fish lemon butter sauce, assorted pasta nepolitana, exotic vegetable Thai green curry, vegetable Hakka noodles. In the name of Indian food, there were only Rice, Assorted bread and Dal Makhani! Earlier when I arrived at the restaurant, shortly before 80 clock, I requested the only helpful staff of the hotel, a steward named Paritosh, to ask the chef if he can make the dinner 100% Indian. Therefore, Mutton Rogan Josh and Paneer gravy was added, but grilled fish lemon butter sauce went missing. Probably as a compensation to Mutton Rogan Josh. As I entered the restaurant, I told the restaurant staff to join the tables for 8 people together, which they agreed to. When I went back 5 mins later to check, the tables were still not joined and on asking why the tables have not been joined yet, knowing that the guests were about to arrive, the answer I got from a waiter was, Sir, is it necessary to join the tables? What a stupid answer! The service was lousy, even though the food was good. By the way, I had to download some urgent emails in my mobile phone, as the 4G in my phone was not working properly at that time. Therefore, I asked the unfriendly staff in Black coat at the reception for the password and he said that it was available only for the guests. So, forget that you will have any access to their Wi-Fi, if you just go to dine out in The Uppal. For me, it was a shock to see such lousy service and unpreparedness in a so-called Boutique Hotel, with 5 star facilities.
