Tree Tops, was a great balance for me. It was in a quiet but energetic neighborhood, with metro and shops separated by trees and parks. Having a sprained ankle, I was close to doctors, but also close to the metro, and shops so I could get anywhere easily. And most important relax myself on the terrace, or at the dining table or in the living room. In other, words I could make myself at home. With the proprietors being authors, it was easy to engage in stimulating but relaxing conversation. I hope to be back later this year, it was such a joy.
I visited Murad and Tannie, the owners of the Tree Top in October 2016. I have to say, it was a very pleasant stay as I was treated with great conversations, food, and genuine care to make sure that my trip to India was a success. I really enjoyed my time there with them, they were gracious host who treated me like a family member. I found the room to be clean and comfortable which met all my needs. The air worked and it's important that it does in Delhi in October. The room was cleaned everyday and had running hot and cold water without running out. As a solo traveler I cannot ask for much more than that!!
The location of the house is central, shops and even a historical monument are within walking distance. The best part of staying at the Tree Top was I got to know Murad and Tannie on a more personal basis where we spend time talking about history, architecture, politics, and religion, and of course excellent breakfast and tasty dinners! I enjoyed my stay so much with them that on my return trip to US I made a one day stop just to say goodbye to them. I would recommend anyone to go visit Murad and Tannie at The Tree Top, I certainly will do myself on my next trip to Delhi!
Very beautiful home with large rooms and great views of trees and the park. Interesting location in Delhi in haus klaus. Highly Recommend this place. Boyfriend was very ill and owners made us free Dal and helped me take him to hospital :) thank you!
I found Treetops to be a welcome retreat from the heat and the hurly-burly of Delhi. I enjoyed the fact that Hauz Khas is set a little apart from the centre of Delhi (and very well placed for the airport) but at the same time, it is easy to get to the centre either on the metro or by tuk-tuk. I enjoyed the plentiful breakfasts and the good coffee, and the ACd cool of my room. Treetops, high in the trees, as the name suggests, is opposite a park, and it is a pleasure to rise early, make tea, and just watch locals enjoying the cool of the morning. There is a good internet connection and laundry is dealt with efficiently and swiftly.
We were given a key so we were able to come and go as we pleased there was no difficulty in our coming back late. I am mystified by what a previous reviewer said about a curfew. I have no idea what they mean.
Tannie and Murad are welcoming and convivial.
Hauz Khas village is 10 minutes away by tuk tuk I recommend the delicious food at Coast restaurant and in particular, the gin and tonic with black pepper and mango.
Lovely accommodation in a great neighborhood

In this lovely house, our rooms were very clean and comfortable; the rooms on the top floor open to a plant-filled terrace which felt like an oasis. Hauz Khaz Village is an easy 15min walk from here, and there are several delicious restaurants down the street. It is also close to the metro, and easy to get to central Delhi. The hosts were lovely and eccentric and our breakfasts (delicious) with them and the other guests were an entertaining and educational highlight! Tannie and Murad were also helpful in arranging taxis, and providing directions and advice on what to see in Delhi.
