Travel guru provided me wrong telephone number.Booking was not in hotl list after 48 hours.I like the locality of thr hotel.

Though the hotel is spacious,I found non coordination between you and hotel.Till I called the very previous day, Hotel people don't know about my booking.Every contact no.given by travelguru is not a valid one.Till last minute I felt tension.More over even after they confirm my booking, they still have asked me to pay. Then again I showed my booking print out and made them convinced.what is all this chaos?

Please tell Ooty gate hotel to improve the service. I asked warm water to room boy but we have received after 2 hr and 3 times we have gone to manger room to get water.

The hotel is a good option for budget travellers and also it is situated at the center of Ooty. The Travel desk is very helpful in organising the sightseeing. The location is excellent and as a whole we enjoyed the stay.

I got this hotel nice. We stayed in a family suite here. It was nice and comfortable. We got 3 beds in family suite. 2 in a big hall and 1 separate bedroom. Restroom was not so good. could have been better. Beautiful view from room. They have a hotel in outside of hotel, food was amazing there. Even i left hotel but came there to have food. Staff was very nice and cooperative.

We stay for two nights, buffet food are not good, very average hotel, lifts are not working properly, rooms are look very average, very costly too not worth able, room service are ok, only advantage is its located near charring crossing.....

Stayed solo, the building looks old from outside the room I have stayed "Suite" was decent, I am not sure about other rooms, but rooms service and reception were very prompt. If you are looking for a budget accomodation, or you are a backpacker on the watch for a place for a night , I would suggest this place. Another benifit is this is right in the middle of the city, which also lets you to access the city by foot.

One Star because cant give anything less. Had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights for a family holiday. Filthy place to stay. They never clean rooms. Don't be surprised to find bedsheets (originally white) now yellow decorated with hair fallen from other customers. Towels also yellow due to lack of cleanliness provided you manage to get one. Rooms are with missing taps in bathrooms. We had only a hot water tap on the mixer so at the sink only could get boiling hot water. No way to mix cold unless you are carrying a pipe wrench. No phones to call for service. You literally have to walk down to reception and beg for things. The room service is extinct. You can call and way till your stay is over before you get stuff. We can get rooms changed on fighting, but you land up with other problems. Manager is most unfriendly for the hotel industry. May be he is also equally fed up with the complaints. All he says is change rooms. Sound travels from one room to another as if there is no wall. Unless anybody is keen on ruining the holiday, please do not book.

Me and My Friend went on a Quick dash visit to Ooty on 2nd April. We didn't do any booking and we had decided to look for economic hotels as we were in no mood to spend much time in hotel. After few searching around we had finalized on this. Here are my Views. 1. Checkin is fairly Quick 2. Rooms are Large. 3.Check out albeit was 12 noon, they were flexible enough to extend it for few more hours. 4. We didn't Try out their restaurant although it looks attractive from outside. 5.We stayed for 2 nights, One of early evening there was blaring music from Parking area. When i checked out it was campfire. It ended by 9.30 PM though. 6. Furniture and Toilet fittings looks dated. 7. Bed cushions we ok and Rooms had a LCD TV with Cable connection. 7. No Room Service after 10 PM. 8. We were charged Off-season Rates on 2nd and we were told from April 10th onwards they will charge season tariff. 9. Location: It is right on the Connoor Road and walkable distance from Charring Cross. 10. It seemed to be hotel frequented by Students groups on College Tour. When we checked other hotels near by, the standard of the rooms were more or less similar to the one here ooty Gate, yet they were charging more. The hotel seems to have all basics for it to be good hotel. Management needs to invest on improving Furniture and Decor of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel if your are going on a budget and you are ok with bare basics.
