The resort is located on a hill with a complete view of the valley and is very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Room was spacious, hygiene and very clean. Staff was very polite and helpful. Service was very quick and prompt. Food was good, although they didn't had few items which were mentioned in the menu. Location is very good but its little expensive.
The Hill Country Holiday Resort was really the perfect place to stay in Ooty. The most beautiful thing was the view of Ooty from the resort and kids play area. My both sons really enjoyed the stay for 4 nights there. Bonn Fire was the perfect idea which we really enjoyed on Christmas Night. Food was excellent. Mr.Vincent, the head cook was a great cook, you just need to tell him what you need and he made the same available in a very tasty way. The rooms are very clean and well furnished. May be television clarity and an Internet connection in few rooms needed ---one of my priority, otherwise Resort is perfect in all senses. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any traveler who wants to stay in Ooty.
The hotel was a perfect fit for a getaway from noise and crowd. Its location was perfect enough to get a breathtaking view. The staff was good and friendly enough to make the stay pleasant. Only advice is to increase dinning options and make it more economical. However a caution to people driving to Ooty that roads to Ooty and within Ooty are missing. Take your own risk while planning a Ooty trip.
The rooms were well maintained and the service was also very quick and prompt. The place is very beautiful one can see the beautiful view from the room like mountains and hills. The breakfast was also very good in taste.
The heater in our room was not working properly, also we had to call the housekeeping to clean our room. Apart from these we had no complaints, we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The location was fantastic, the ambiance was blissful. There was an area specially for kids to play, my children really enjoyed that. The food too was good to taste. Overall this is an above average property.
The room was marvelous with all the necessities. Staff was caring and polite. The food was excellent.
The service was impeccable and food arrangement was fascinating. The staff was caring and helped us throughout the stay. Our room was full of amenities and location was awesome with lots of nature and scenic beauties around.
Room was basic and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Good for single person to stay. Very economical and service was good.
Location was excellent. Our room was good but the bathroom interior was not so appealing. The food was average in taste. The service provided by the staff was decent. Overall a an average stay in this hotel.
The best part of this resort is its location. It is little far from the city but gives you an extraordinary view of the lush green mountais of Ooty. Also it is little deep inside from the main Ooty-Coonor highway, so all you can hear is the sound of little birds and chilling wind. If you are looking for a calm serene relaxing time in the lap of nature, away from the crowd and noise of the city, this is ideal place for you. If you are a foody, you will be little disapointed. Food is average and you will not get much option nearby. Rooms and nice and clean, staffs are humble and courteous. Breakfast and dinner timings are little odd - 9 AM in the morning and 9 PM in the night, both was quite late for me. Overall I was pretty happy with my stay over here.
Nice clean basic rooms with proactive staff. Strategically located - near the town but away from the crowds. Commands a good scenic view from the room. Decent. Good value for money.
my stay at hill country holiday resorts was good, infact very good, the location is excellent with a beautiful valleyview, the hotel is very good with good rooms and very good service, the room service was efficient and restaurant service was very good, the food was good, breakfast was excellent, overall it was a very good experience and my kids really enjoyed, though i would say the hotel is little far from the market as all good hotels are....and the directions to the hotel are not shown anywhere on the way, find it very suprising and nor they are mentioned on the website of the hotel, and though the area mentioned is lovedale but the hotel's approach from lovedale station is bad,...i would suggest for people who wanna go to this hotel better take coonoor road from charring cross and cross the first junction which says lovedale 3 kms and go ahead, immediately take the first right though it is narrow but it does mention the hotels name and you can also ask for sagar resorts which is just next to the hotel, overall the experience was very good, and i would definetely recommend this hotel and another advise to fellow travellers, its better to keep a vehicle with you always or arrange for it from ooty market as the hotel doesnt have a taxi stand or auto stand in the vicinity.
Everything is really amazing and we enjoyed the stay!! Their staff are really co-operative ( especially housekeepers ) but dining needs to be improved in terms of price, quality, varieties, speedy service... etc and I hope the hotel mgmt will take this and work upon. Overall it was a good experience and I refer this as a preferred resort!!

It's located atleast 10km away from ooty. A lot of walking is required whether for restaurant or to go to your car. Premium suite has valley view which is beautiful... Hotel offers breathtaking views.. in November it was misty at 6pm and valley below was cottony white.. Food service is slow but food is tasty Game room is good Children play area is nice. Rooms are clean and only essential necessities are provided.. please carry your own hair dryer.. Hotel says 24 hour hot water.. but after the first bucket you need to wait 20-25 mins before hot water comes again.
After Visiting The Hill country resort at Kodaikanal I decided to visit their resort at Ooty driving down to Lovdale near Ooty more known as Niligiris Hills . The drive to Lovedale resort from Kodai via Palani and Dharapuram and Mettupalayam took me about 8 hrs , thanks to heavy traffic on winding ghat road coupled with sharp showers and Mist . After checking into a large and comfortable room and relishing a real hot meal that was very homely ,I retired to bed . Waking up to the knock on my door at 6 am, Steaming hot bed coffee was served in my room with crisp biscuits . Getting up from bed and sauntering to the two large windows facing the south east and looking out ,the view took my breath away . I was mesmerised by the valley view from the room as the sun was rising behind the clouds. There were a number of small hills dotting in the horizon below and it was so beautiful .No wonder Niligiris is called the queen of the hills in South India. The Lovedale Hill country resort is situated in theNilgiri Hillsin the state ofTamil NaduinIndia and is spread over 3.5 acres in a linear fashion and has different terrains . It is one of the highest places above mean sea level in the Nilgiris and is about 5 kms from Ooty. This town is quite popular thanks to Lawrence residential school that has been around for many years . Needless to write this resort reflects the same ethos of hospitality with a smile and every creature comfort attended to with meticulous care both in the room and the other common service areas .The entire campus was looking spick n span .The toilet was very modern had all the necessary items that will bring smile for any one . Lot of attention is being given to the greening and maintenace of the property to Enhance the feel good factor for the guests . Presently the resort has just about 20 rooms In the firm of cottages and suites .The expansion plans to raise by another 40 rooms in different configuration I understand has been on back burner due to inordinate delay in getting approval from the authorities in spite of the proposal.meetingv all the laid out norms and hill development rules and regulations. The expansion I believe will address issues relating to facilities to accommodate special needs of senior citizens ,which at the time of Devoloping the present rooms was not a predominant requirement as the average age if guests was quite low and they were getting accustomed to Hill terrains . The facilities are all close to 5 star but with no swimming pool as hill resorts do not really need them and having a heated pool in a power starved district doesn't make economic sense so it given a go by The restaurant though small is adequate for 20 rooms but eventually I understand there will be a new and more modern kitchen to cater to 60 rooms will be added with a club house. Lovedale, due to its location in the Nilgiris benefits from both northeast and South West monsoon rains . The wet season runs from April to December and the dry season from January to March. There is a difference of 345mm of precipitation between the driest and wettest months. Throughout the year, temperatures vary by 4.2C and ranges from 5 to 20 C. Hill country Lovedale is a wonderful getaway For any one who loves quite and cool ambience and enjoys a lot of privacy while being provided with comforts at affordable rates . I was indeed very happy to see so many sparrows that has vanished from my city of Chennai and that some things good in nature still holds out in this Hill country resort . The rooms in the resort are large with basic amenities. The bathrooms and all fittings are minimalist but functional. Make sure you get the valley view rooms. Its a well spread out complex but be prepared to walk steep slopes and steps to get to the rooms and the restaurant. The breakfast is basic ( good South Indian options) and the regular eggs etc but is served hot and is very good.
Lots of stairs going up and down even to get to the restaurant we need to climb almosy 12 steps stairs. I had difficult time with my elderly mother she suffered alot Be careful there are 3 types of rooms one is deluxe suits but has no view of the mountains so be careful if you want the view book the premium one, or the cottages they are lovely Restaurant: not worth it the breakfast was limited and not attractive Far away from the market you can't roam around the hotel
Stayed in their premier suite from 26th to 28th august with family and overall experience was awesome. Got a great deal from MMT on this and the resort exceeded my expectations. It is a large place spread over a slope on the mountain with beautiful flowers all around that naturally grow there and the resort seems to have added a few varieties of their own. It is slightly far from the city and thats the charm of it. The weather was great in the morning but starts to rain in the afternoon which ruined some of the fun but still worth it. Chef Rajesh prepared wonderful breakfast and meals and the taste and ingredients that he chooses is surely at par with what you would find in a five star property so hats off to chef rajesh A few cons were 1) food is slightly expensive though the quantity will really surprise you bcoz they have huge servings especially biryaani which comes in a large bowl good enough to easily feed 2 2) very few people (staff) so sometimes it takes a while before they take away the soiled plates and the room is filled with the smell till then The place is perfect for relaxing and watching the views - you even see the toy train from the garden. Sagar holiday resorts which is very close to mountain retreat also has similar view and perhaps these two are the best properties in ooty as far as view is concerned I saw some reviews where people wrote its not much value and i can understand the reason that if you book during peak season this kind of a room will go for 6k or more and one may not find that much value but in off peak season if you find it under 3k, you will surely find tremendous value
