It was terrible experience not with hotel but with TRAVEL GURU... I have booked hotel The Willow Hill at 6th of Apr for 1st may means with travel guru, @ 1 month advance and i have got confirmation from travel guru regarding hotel booking immediately within 2 days. So I am quite relaxed because of the confirmation I have called hotel on 26th Apr (one week before to start my holidays) to confirm the vehicle and the shock from hotel was received that "NO BOOKING FROM TRAVELGURU", i have totally shocked so i have contacted travel guru and the Journey to third class service from travel guru is started...... till tomorrow i will book your hotel and tomorrow and tomorrow, finally the another option given by travel guru a day just before I have to leave with lot of follow off & wasting lot of money on call to travel guru, meantime during my follow of no single call I have received from travel guru. I have booked hotel (The willow hill) from the feedback from friends and the option provided by travel guru is totally third class compared to my booking. FRIEND I WILL SUGGEST PLEASE DONT BELIEVE ON TRAVEL GURU, THEY SIMPLY SPOIL YOUR HOLIDAYS

lovely room with own private garden. Quiet serene hotel with landscaped gardens. Excellent service at the restaurant with an adequate well presented breakfast buffet. Lovely bathtub in addition to a hot shower. We found this place value for money giving us all we required for a 2-day break away from Bangalore. If one likes to walk, the hotel sits on a long quiet road with tributaries which you could explore and see all those ancient English Cottages with their vintage names. Ample car parking even for big cars without worry, good security, and courteous staff. I will definitely book Willow Hill again and again to de-stress myself. Thanks Travelguru for your wonderful service.

The hotel is perfect for those who wish to have a leisure holiday away from the town. It has a beautiful view of the hills from the rooms. Quality of service is decent and the restaurant offers some good food options as well.

It's a very good and decorated hotel with excellent natural view. The quality of reception and co-operation was very good. Dining quality was very average. It was really a good experience in all. I will recommend all that this is a really nice hotel without crossing your budget. If you are 1st time in Ooty then the stuffs also help you to go for the right travel plan.

I booked the Superior room, that was good. The staff was courteous and well behaved. Food quality was good. Murli at the reception and Louis at the dining hall were the best there. Room services sometimes took more than an hour. Overall, it was a pleasant and memorable stay at the Willow Hill.

Was dissapointing for me Was dissapointing for me

by B_3D on January 5, 2018

I had read couple of reviews of "proactively being provided a better room" by the hotel. Sadly, I had no such treatment and I was told I would have to shell out extra incase I wanted a better room.. inspite of rooms being vacant. The staff were nice.. but too much clinical in their approach. Anyways, my room bein in the cellar, there were absolutely no signals .. nor the hotel Wi-Fi works there. So I was without any kind of connectivity there. The cellar rooms.. standard rooms as thy're called are claustrophobic with no windows. The power cuts are frequent, with no back up..nor any facility in the room. The cutlery and the amenities definitely need upgrading.. they were in a sad condition. This is enough for me to say I was mighty unhappy with my stay here. The very good thing was their bit to conserve water. That is a very good measure. Else apart, I'd advise NOT to go for the standard rooms. By the reviews, I believe the other rooms are pretty decent to stay in.

Lovely quiet hotel with fabulous rooms and great restaurant Lovely quiet hotel with fabulous rooms and great restaurant

by La_Marquesa on December 17, 2017

I loved this place. Might not be to everyone's taste but it has a really nice feel to it. Parquet floors. Generous sized rooms with large bathroom and even a bath. Myvroom had 2 nice armchairs, a fabulous standard lamp with solid wood stand. Felt quite mid-Century modern. The hotel is situated up one of the hills (where there are wuite a fee hotels. It's only a 20 minute walk to the town centre or 5 minutes in a Tuk Tuk (the hills are quite steep!). The location means that the hotel has fabulous views down over the town and to the hills beyond. The restaurant on the lower ground also has great views and a large outside terrace/eating area. I was there on a Saturday night and was thrilled to have Premier League football on the TV in the room. Room rate included a good breakfast choice - American/Continental/Indian. I ate in the evening as didnt find anywhere good in town. Hige porrions of tasty and well-priced Indian food.

This is an old British style house converted into a hotel. The rooms are big with huge windows, though the views are not that great because of trees obstructing the view. One can see hills in the distance, though. The rooms are not very clean and food is just ok. I used to eat at King's Cliff hotel which is just opposite. Keep in mind that the hotel is on a hill, quite a distance away from the heart of the town.

Overall comfortable stay Overall comfortable stay

Initially, we were disappointed with the limited view from the room we first got; however, the staff proactively gave us a room with a better view when another guest checked out. I liked the location - not too far from the town, no traffic problems, good view from room etc. The approach road was quite bad, but that wasn't the hotel's fault. Although the property looked quite old, we didn't find anything to complain during our overnight stay.

Dirty rooms, bed bugs, broken taps etc Dirty rooms, bed bugs, broken taps etc

by Vivek C on July 11, 2017

The experience is so bad that I have to write this review before even checking out. Its an old property with very poor maintainance. Bathroom tap is broken, the wooden floor has nails popping out, TV is defective combined with staff which doesn't care about service. From amenities perspective you will get nothing, not even a basic room heater. So if it gets cold (and yes it's cold here), the staff recommendation is to put another blanket as supposedly the hotel's power supply is incapable of handling the load.
