We rightly chosen this property for our stay in Orchha. We stayed for 2 nights 4-5 Jan 2017. Were allotted room no 6-7. Both are well located near to the reception & dinning hall & the garden area. Its a huge property built on a heritage sight. Individual cottages spread over the property & the old structures are also there within the property which adds to the beauty. River Betwa is in walking distance & glimpses of the river could be seen from different locations in the property but not from rooms. Room amenities are good but housekeeping has a problem. Towels are not changed even on request. We requested to clean the room & change the towels. But when we returned at night we found the same bathing towels have been folded nicely placed in the washrooms. Hand towels were hanging as it is although one of the towel was totally wet. Hand wash not refilled. It is typical of Govt. property, if you complain, they will do it but not on regular basis. Breakfast is basic, poori aloo, omlet, regular bread with jam or butter. Milk & cornflakes. Staff are good & they try to give best hospitality in available resources. Kitchen is in basement & serving staff are running to meet the demand. Understaffed. There is complimentary bone fire which the disclose if only asked. We found one group were having fun & when asked they said it is in the package. When requested they managed to provide us space in the garden & it was real fun. Food was also served there & we really enjoyed it. Thanks to the executive who arranged it quickly for us. They also arrange river rafting for the guest. We did only boating.
Whatever, the place is so good, we had a wonderful time.
Worst part is they do not accept Card payment, none of digital payment. Only Govt shop in Orchha, Mrignayani in the same property also does not accept digital payment. wifi only in reception area.
Stayed 2 nights apart of an Intrepid tour. We were originally allocated Room 6 but moved to Room 6 (a bit lower down and closer to the restaurant) as there was an ant nest in a light near the floor.
Room 6 is a spacious tiled room and a huge comfortable bed with 2 pillows-1 hard/1 soft, fridge, safe, AC, fan, coffee table and 2 chairs, hanging cupboard and a small balcony.
The safe was locked, however, it was unlocked by a staff member reasonably quickly.
Overall, the room was clean and comfortable, however, the whole complex could do with a little spruce up.
A dip in the swimming pool was a good way of beating the heat for a short while.
I stayed in heritage suite from 3rd dec. to 5th dec 2016. It is a beautiful place. Room was good having a living room, a bedroom, dressing room and huge bathroom with bath tub and other amenities. a small fridge was also there. a big size tv. The manager of hotel was very cooperative. this is a beautiful heritage property. front of hotel betwa river is there. you can have a view of temple and other historical place from the hotel.
We went orchha for 2 days.we stayed at heritage suit of hotel.it is a very old structure converted into a suit .it has its own personal garden .overall a great experience.food is excellent.resort is near betawa river ,fort and chhatris.
If you like a no frills, quiet and lazy relaxed holiday with family and friends, this is the place.
The hotel has everything you ask for from a family hotel - lawns, swimming pool, restaurant, guides. Have a lazy breakfast on the rooftop restaurant with the chaturbhuj temple in the backdrop. In the evening there is a local troop singing folk songs while you enjoy a hot soup or a chilled beer. The most unexpected memory will be the rafting in the betwa river - do not miss it and kids above 5 are allowed.
Swiss tents near the swimming pool are best to stay. The staff is great. Full marks to Mr Amit and team.
Anyone who can doesn't miss a 5 star hotel when away from home, will line this place.
