Location: The location of the hotel is very near to the Betwa River and Cenotaphs. The road on which the hotel is located is clean. The other two hotels nearby were the Betwa retreat of MPTDC and Hotel Amar Palace, a luxury hotel.Orchha resort is located at the very end of Orchha on Tikamgarh road near the bridge. Parking: The Hotel has no covered parking but has a large space to park cars and buses, just in front of its entrance. The Front and travel desk: The staff was helpful though they did not provide any useful information about sights and timings for various events like puja and sound and light show. they replied to questions asked but did volunteer more information.I had booked a standard double room with an extra bed and when we reached the hotel at 15.30 ,in the taxi provided by the hotel, the room was not ready. After waiting for 30 minutes I approached the desk and they allotted a marble deluxe room to me near the rear of hotel with a wall and junk dump for view. Tired as I was I accepted the same and conked off to sleep. in the evening i requested for room change but was told there were none available. I had to shout at the desk before they produced a room which could take in an extra bed. Room : The room was small but neat. It had a fixed marble bed and there was hardly any room to fit an extra bed.The linen was clean, air conditioner was running and taps and flush were working. The bathroom was compact and reasonably clean. Food & Room Service: Food was average. It was vegetarian fare in the restaurant a fact which is not clearly mentioned on the website. Service was slow.Menu on both days for breakfast was same and average in taste. Housekeeping our beds were not made for almost complete next day while we were out sight seeing , this inspite of telling the front desk and placing a card on our dor knob. we had to reuest for cleaning on arrival and had to wait in lounge till that was done. Facilities The hotel is equipped with WiFi access. However there is no library , no newspapers in rooms or in lounge , no magazines. There are no indoor or outdoor games available. We asked the reception for table tennis only to be told that it would not be possible. There is a good swimming pool though and a small fitness centre. Cost The hotel charged us nearly Rs 4500 for a standard room.We realised that the other hotels were offering much better service and facilities at same or lower cost. I did make it a point to visit Betwa retreat , Amar mahal and Sheesh mahal for meals and looked into their rooms. The cost of a bottle of water was rs 69 as against the MRP of RS 15 and most of the other good hotels incl Betwa retreat ,Sheesh mahal , Amar palace were charging Rs 20 for the same. Overall: On the whole, the hotel is a not a good option for the budget traveler. it is not value for money and is best avoided unless all other hotels are full.
