Average hotel with good location affordable place to stay amazing food efficient service The Hotel is located in the best possible place. The view from the hotel is one of the best. The hotel rooms are average well maintained bathrooms. Average food options. The hospitality of the hotel staff is good.

We visited J&K in Jun, 2016 and stayed at Pine Spring Hotel in Srinagar, Pahalgam and Gulmarg. We had a lovely time at all the properties but the best was at Pahalgam - courtesy Mr Prabal Guha (General Manager). We did not like the ground floor rooms initially and he went out of way to make things comfortable for the entire family. Despite the hotel being sold out, he took personal care and made our stay wonderful, including travel around Gulmarg and the special bon-fire at night. All in all had a great time at Pine Spring Pahalgam.

We had a very good stay at this hotel. The location is very good. The staff hospitality is awesome. The rooms were well conditioned but not much spacious. Food was OK. We got the rides easily for different place from here. A market is also nearby area where we went for shopping.

One of the better looking properties in Pahalgam, away from the hustle bustle of the town. Has two blocks A and B, and we were in B block. Even though I had a room with an extra area, our friends family accompanying us had a very small room. The first one they had got was even smaller and smelt bad. Can't comment on price as we were through a package. But special mention - they didn't have our booking reflecting on their systems. And they couldn't verify from the head office through out the stay due to the Eid holiday. This was the case even when we checked out. But they checked us in, and didn't charge for rooms just based on the voucher print we gave them. Positives: + Good overall ambience + Good location, river just across the street. One can hear the water through the night. + Nice garden and sit out area. + Well maintained exterior. + Wifi available. + Clean bathrooms + Has a BBQ in the evening in the garden. + Horses and taxis available right from the hotel. Negatives: - costly food. - smelly rooms. - no lifts at least in the B block. - average tasting breakfast. - not so friendly overall staff. May be least ones we found in Kashmir.

Wellto start with a BIG thanks to Mr. Sadiq - the owner and Mr. Ajay Choudhary - General Manager along with their staff and Mr. Sadiqs cousins. We are safe just due to your act of selflessness, truthful advise and relentless efforts during the crisis. I have split this review in two parts 1 the Hotel with its services and amenities and 2 the staff, their efforts and unselfishness. Hotel review: After a lot of negotiation, we finally checked in Hotel Pine Spring - Pahalgam in to an Executive Suite for 2 adults and 1 child for our 3/4 days unexpected ordeal in the valley. The hotel is fairly new located approximately 3 kms. from main market with typical scenic mountains surrounding and Lidder river flowing right across. Although, wouldn't recommend going to the river, but has a decent view. With all the standard amenities, Pine Spring offers less than value for money we paid but can be recommended to anyone visiting Pahalgam having decent budget on the pocket, but that is the case with entire Kashmir Valley. All resorts/hotels/guest houses are heavily overpriced. DO NOT go on the images shown on their websites/travel portals as they would be completely misleading for any and all hotels. Our stay @ Pine Spring was pretty fine with mostly repetitive and standard breakfast and dinner. Being in the heart of Kashmir Valley we expected authentic Kashmiri cuisine but were served only standard North Indian meals during dinner. Service standard during our stay were below expectations as the staff needs a lot of training in handling an influx of large number of guests specially during the Yatra (Hindu Pilgrimage to Amarnath Shrine). All said and done it was an OK stay at Pine Spring until we realized and saw the true side of Kashimiri hospitality. The Staff and Their Services: On the eve of our check-out from Pine Spring, news flashed of an encounter of most wanted militant in the valley and there we go..cut off for next 48 hours or even more from the rest of world. Mr. Saqiq and his team led by Mr. Ajay Choudhary set an example of true hospitality and customer service by briefing each and every guest on the incident, curfew, tensions and its repercussions. Everyone was briefed time to time most importantly they provided complete logistical and other support and security to us. Entire valley was boiling with the untoward incident while we were treated with Kashmiri Kehwa, free lunch and dinner, internet, free telephone, flight reservation assistance during our last day stay at the hotel. The staff was on toes and extremely helpful during the time of crisis as most of the guests had never seen such crisis since panic ran amongst all families. Sincere APPRECIATIONS to the Team Pine Springthey made us feel safe and at helped each guest exit Pahalgam, safely. As we were the last family to exit Pine Spring, Mr. Sadiq and his friends arranged a car for us at 2.00 am past midnight!! They paid extra money from their pockets to ensure we have a known driver, good car to reach Srinagar and more important a local Kashmiri to handle any unexpected incident. Not sure if any hotel owners would go to this extent for customer services. Pine Spring ensured we were safe and reached Srinagar by 4.00am amidst heavy security. Thanks to Pine Spring for true hospitality during hostilitywould certainly remember you guys for ever!!
