The rating is for a stay with about 75 fourteen year old students where the hotel was able to cope with service and hospitality easily. Stayed with my students on the property which has a nice swimming pool and a fabulous lawn. The rooms are not too bad and I particularly like the back door leading to a patch of green - very suitable for anyone staying with young children who might get fed up being cooped up in a room. The bathrooms could use an upgrade. There is a dining room but the outdoor dining space where the hotel laid out the buffet for my students is a better option. There's banquet for holding any form of get together, my students used it for some music and dance. The meals, while not out of the world, were not at all bad. Maybe it gets better when they cater to regular guests and not a bunch of permanently hungry noisy teenagers. Ample parking and located very conveniently just off the road.
Panchgani - called the poor cousin of mahabaleshwar for way too long now , But if one is looking for a quality holiday , practically no traffic ( compared to m'war ) clean air & peace & quiet , then Panchgani is the place to go to . It still retains a old world charm . Coming to Blue Country Resort , it is a hidden jewel of Panchgani . Situated behind the table top , it is a haven for peaceful holidays . Am going there since 10 years & happily they r always trying to improve . No complacency . Ever smiling staff , looking after you like a mother hen looking after its chicks ! Good food , beautifully landscaped, variety of flowers , a nice swimming pool & lovely outdoors dinning area ! Eating dinner under the clear sky full of stars is an joy to be experienced! A definite must do ! Bonfire is provided if requested ! Hot food served at your table if you so want ! The rooms are by far the largest amongst all hotels including mahabaleshwar! Not 5 star standards but the best value for money you can get . No two ways about it ! Hot water available all 24 hrs ( thanks to solar panels) The most heart warming part is the smiling staff & the paronia to keep on improving every year . Good for families & corporates too ! So anyone wanting a peaceful & rejuvenating holiday , in a economic package - should visit Blue Country Resort ! For those wanting to stay in a crowded , polluted city can always opt for mahabaleshwar!
Pros Rooms are good in the new wing , needs a renovation in the older wing, good lawn very close to market ,good food ...Having a beautiful lawn and swimming pool. Cons Needs a better management.. Needs to improve the quality of service. Needs good experience staff . Decor of the Conference hall should be changed as lots of things are not working like a/C ... Doors etc. Overall good hotel for fit and leisure group serious Conference needs to think... Last not the least Value for money
Stayed at blue country resort in Jan 2017. While deciding on the hotel / resort at Panchgani came across blue country resort. The pictures looked attractive however there were a lot of negative reviews on tripadvisor. Still went ahead and made the booking as I was getting a good deal through and online portal. I must say I am very happy I made this decision. We were upgraded from deluxe room to superior valley facing room. The resort was very maintained, the rooms were clean and tidy , garden and pool area were nicely maintained as well. The staff is good and happy to help. Food is delicious as well. Although the hotel building is bit old it was maintained nicely by the staff. Pool is nice and large, rooms very spacious. All in all a very good stay, no complaints at all, had a very relaxed and refreshing stay , would definitely recommend.
we drove down from mumbai..we left at 8am on saturday and reached the hotel by 2pm (with pit stops for loo n lunch)..if nt for google we would not have located the hotel, so mind it!! the hotel isnt far from the main town/ market, just a bit hidden along many of the place's bye-roads..most attractions are close by.. the place has ample parking..rooms are just OK..no lifts in the place and it requires some step-hopping to get to the reception from the rooms..old style keys for rooms (and ours didnt work well)..room n bath r clean..tea kettle with accessories are in the room along with toiletries..but pls do carry ur own towels coz theirs are so rough with years of usage.. pool looked dirty and no one was using it (b careful of ur tiny tots as I didnt see any lookout person/ security around the pool)..garden was ok but the swing etc. could have been better..hotel has a game room but we didnt check it out so cant comment.. the ground floor rooms open to a private sit-out and onto the garden area through the french windows on the rear (not a private garden but a common one)..the french window in our room wouldnt close and they fixed it in no time, but do check urs..the first floor ones do not have a balcony (atleast ours didnt) which is a dampener although the windows can be opened, so check again that they close fully.. they have a garden restaurant as well as a closed one on the first floor..we only had our breakfast in the hotel, which was a big miss in terms of variety..so cant comment on anything else on their menu..we did have some lovely pakoras n tea in the evening..keep in mind that their restaurant sort of shuts down between meals, so carry ur own snack or fruit bag in case u need to eat or munch anything in-between..we had our dinner at rustam's strawberry inn (parsi food-amazon strawberry cream) as for ambience, the whole place is a weekender..so no chance of quiet anywhere..its mostly family crowd, though..the hotel could provide bon fire etc. on request for groups (we were there during late winters and it gets really cold in evening as te temperature drops suddenly, so b prepared with warm wear)..also, there could be larger groups in the hotel with loud party music played out in the garden at night and could have trouble sleeping (as we did) overall, we were not happy with our stay in the hotel and I am told there are better places around.. there is an entry tax fr vehicle n ppl entering panchgani (50 for vehicle and 20 per person)..the passes are given by some sort of collection agents (n not cops) just as u enter panchgani and its hard to miss them coz they wud b standing bankg on the road.. but do count the passes as we wer given one short n since we realised it immediately, we got it rectified..preserve the passes till u leave the area (we wer askd fr it at 2 check points, again by collection agents n nt cops) as for itinerary- go to Table Land (do take the horse ride for a complete experience) and Mapro garden..rest of the points are worth only if u r there in monsoon or just after it..and dont forget the reason ur here-strawberry,as they r literally farm-to-table here..we had stopped at one of the road-side farms n had one of the best sugarcane juices n picked strawberry from the field as well as packed many to take home..also try carrots, radish n broccoli
