Room was too small with old style furniture. Hotel has no restaurant they have a small kitchen to cook the food. Staff were very slow in their service they used to take 1 hour to serve anything in the room.

This is a fantastic property for a family vacation outing. The ambiance is delightful & pleasant. The maintenance is appreciative. The food too was very delicious. This is definitely an above average property.

The first impression came to my mind when I visit that it was an old property but their hospitality was impressive. The staff was friendly and food was also superb in taste. The only problem was the room as it was very small for couples and not well facilitated is well.

Foodies Paradise Foodies Paradise

by Burzeen B on November 1, 2016

Spent this year's Diwali at this hotel. I was allocated room no 9 which is a non valley facing room with a small balcony. The room is extremely small and not recommended if you have hyper active kids. The only saving grace is that this room had 2 entrances. The TV was not working but that wasn't a deal breaker since we hardly stayed in the room. The best thing about this place is its away from the hustle bustle of the main road. It's peaceful, quiet and super relaxing. If you are from the big cities you will love to listen to the beautiful chirping of birds in the morning. Oh! The food is to die for. If you are a non Parsi and want to enjoy authentic Parsi food look no further than this place. If you are a Parsi you will not miss home food at all. It's a foodies paradise. However all desserts were non chocolate which the kids didn't enjoy or rather didn't even try out. Everything else was super delicious. My verdict - Avoid room no. 9 but in every other way it's fantastic! Worth the money!

Home away from Home in a rustic environment with a fantastic view Home away from Home in a rustic environment with a fantastic view

This a family run hotel with about 12 rooms, set in a rustic colonial style bungalow with fantastic views of the valley below. The food and service is exceptional in typical parsi style and an ideal place for R&R, away from the sounds and smells of the city. When we traveled we had a guest that was allergic to eggs and she was catered too according to her dietary preference for all the meals that we had at the hotel. So for me this was one of the best experience and definitely warrants a second visit.

Visited this place along with Family and it is absolutely lovely place. Location is good with respect to market and to enjoy views of panchgani The only issue we had that they don't serve VEG Food which anyways is available in closeby market Overall a good place to stay

Quaint ol' place amidst the woods in Panchgani Quaint ol' place amidst the woods in Panchgani

Was a lovely long weekend stay here at Hotel Mountview, which came highly recommended. Me and my wife are both big fans of old architecture and this one here is an old Parsee bungalow/villa converted now by the family into a very homely hotel. Covered and hidden away from the thoroughfare by thick foliage, it is only just off the main road leading up to the main bazaar, which is about half a mile away, a good stroll in the Panchgani weather. Run by the Khambattas, who are a very caring family (and great cooks!), and managed by the very efficient Mr. Parmar. The rooms and the bathrooms were clean and the service was great, but what really had us licking our fingers was the delicious home-cooked Parsee food that gets served here, thrice a day! We were tended to by one Mr. Manoj, who is a very gentle and kind man, and would accommodate all our requests very happily. Mind you, this is not a place for those looking for those ultra modern places made of glass and steel, the place has a very organic feel about it, and I can vouch for it very highly if there's anyone out there looking to wind back in time and stay in a beautiful rustic old villa!

Quaint & Quiet Living with Clouds Quaint & Quiet Living with Clouds

Mid-budget place and more, this is the 2nd time I have stayed here. We went without a booking and landed on a Monday afternoon unlike typical visitors. Got a room immediately, we stepped out for lunch to the market nearby (2 to 5-min drive away) and got back for a siesta. Mount View Heritage is one of the first places you hit once you reach Panchgani from Wai-Surur Rd. The staff is very helpful and has the charm of a homestay. The property has a great valley view and the clouds actually floated into the room because of wonderful weather. It kept drizzling occasionally and sunlight was so welcome the second day. Room we stayed in was No.5, right at the centre of one block and the door opens to the view outside. The room has a big bed, tv, shelf space, huge bathroom with hot water from 7.30am to 11.30am. The dressing table with mirror has a lot of drawers, typical old wood style. Food is great if you love non-vegetarian food. They do serve limited veg food though. I had this awesome Stuffed Capsicum that is a do-not-miss. For breakfast we had these fried omelettes and chicken kheema with roti, break, butter n jam and lots of tea. Got soup, chapathi, rice, dal, whole moong dal and stuffed capsicum as well as potato cutlets along with a jelly dessert for dinner. Homely and warm :-) Btw, it is a Heritage property because the British used it as their summer house so that old world charm is simply awesome! It should also be a great place for groups to stay here because of the way rooms are grouped. Noticed that they provide cycles if you wanna cycle around town. Wi-Fi and Cable tv is available. We played some carrom, walked around the place and enjoyed a lot of scenic view time. And thanks to the big black dog who offered a very generous Paw-Shake!
