Great Budget stay Close to Pench Nat Park Great Budget stay Close to Pench Nat Park

by MickandA on November 30, 2016

We asked our tour provider for good clean budget accomodation on our 3 park safari. With Mowgli's this is exactly what we got. The room was Large and well appointed with tea and coffee facilities, a fan and aircon and a huge firm bed which i prefer(my wife especially liked the stars and moon in faint luminescant paint on the domed ceiling once the lights were all out), the bathroom was huge with its own hot water system so hot water was not an issue, a small balcony/verandah was a nice spot to read and drink Chai between game drives in the park. The staff could not have been friendlier and did wake up calls and breakfast baskets for our trips into the park. Although australian we love Indian food and whilst all the food on the trip was great the food at Mowglis was exceptional with great variety of different curries and sweets at every meal, always more than we could possibly eat. I think the guys there are trying really hard to make every visitor welcome and i would certainly hope they will continue on that line. We stayed during the current currency crisis and the manager did a great job in changing the larger bills that we obtained at the airport into smaller more useable currency. what was most astounding was that as we left with all the staff saying goodbye i gave the young gentleman managing a nice tip to share amongst the staff, he knowing what difficulty we were having getting money anywhere twice refused saying that we would need this money ourselves, only by insisting that they must take it for their great friendly service did he accept the money, thats a rarity in my book. This is not a resort with pool and bars and such but as stated good clean budget accom, our main interest was the wildlife and Mowglis was a pleasant stay with this in mind. The driver we also used for our game drives was also excellent and i can forward details if anyone likes.

The trip ended with best tiger sighting The trip ended with best tiger sighting

Mowglis Den happened to be extremely lucky for us as we had only one trip in the park and we sighted Langdi the Tigress for almost half the time we were inside park. Sagnik Dada, the owner of the resort managed to arrange one of the best drivers of Pench whose acute sense of judgement and intuition not only enabled us to have the best tiger sighting so far but also we managed to get some pretty awesome shots and videos. The resort is very close to Turia Gate which helps us to be ahead in queue during the safaris and enter the park earlier. The rooms are very big and has a very comfortable bed and mattress. We had been driving continuously since 6 days and were tired by the time we had reached our last destination in the itinerary. However, after a good sleep , we could manage to travel back to Pune driving 1200 km. The staff is very courteous and young, full of enthusiasm and eager. They are courteous and make you feel at home. The interiors have a rustic bamboo feeling and dining space also has the same relaxed theme. The food is simple and healthy which is important when you are in safaris. Overall, a comfortable and peaceful stay in the circle of nature. The garden area is big and inhouse swans welcome you during the breakfast time. The resort Mowglis Den very much presents the soul of the Pench Tiger Reserve , the Jungle Book Jungle where Mowgli lived once .You Feel You Have Arrived His Home

There are 10 cotteges and each 2 cotteges are adjacent with each other. Very spacious room. A really large attached toilet. Beautiful garden. This garden itself has variety of bird species. The manager of this hotel Mr. Samuels (9893015679) is a very good man, very cooperative and always helped us a lot. The staff Mr sekhar uncle, very well behaved and served us greatly. Food of this resort is just mind blowing. Quantity is excessive. And as we are Bengali, they made rosogolla for us as a surprise. Overall it was a very nice stay and also a memorable trip. Special thanks to Mr yogesh ji( Booking manager of tiger n woods), who helped us to stay in this resort.

Budgeted Hotel Budgeted Hotel

The rooms are spacious, round and even the bathroom is round. There is no T.V. and refrigerator in the room. An electric kettle is there for making tea. The property needs lots of improvement. It has no swimming pool. The owner takes care of the food which is being served but as compared to the price of meals they charge, soup and starters are missing in the menu, which can be incorporated. Overall a budget resort which can improve more.

hiked unnecessary charges and property not maintained properly hiked unnecessary charges and property not maintained properly

Owners have changed since Apr 2016. The new management does not seem to maintain the resort properly. Moreover, Exorbitantly charged us on our check out for some extra refreshments. The lady incharge was not even ready to talk or listen to anything. She was more interested that we pay the bill as charged. Not seen this attitude in service industry. Would NOT recommend this property if you are travelling with family.
