Pathetic/Rowdy Behavior of Manager (Ramesh) of Annai Residence Pondichery It was a worst experience of my life. I booked 3 executive rooms of Annai Residence Pondichery for 2 nights after looking a room picture on Travel guru website. The rooms which were allocated to us were Deluxe. When I confront with the hotel manager he lied saying its Executive rooms. I have to spend first night in those small rooms. I called up Travel guru. Prashanth from Travel guru spoken to the Hotel and sort out the issue and in last Hotel agreed to shift us in an Executive rooms for 2nd night. I was on a beach with my family when got a call from Hotel that we have to shift our luggage to an executive room and I have to come back soon because the deluxe room has been allocated to someone else and they are waiting on reception. Somehow I convinced my family and came back to Hotel. When I asked for a key, Ramesh (he called himself Manager) started shouting and using abusing language. I asked him to be courteous and should behave properly otherwise I will call police. He said I can call anyone he is not scared off. He is local here and I am tourist, he can do worse than this. He also tried manhandling. It�s Ridiculous, Pathetic behavior, no customer respect. I strongly suggest people, especially if travelling with Family please don�t book this hotel. They are big time cheater and Rowdy�s. I recommend Travel guru management should take up this case with Annai Management and see people like Ramesh should be sacked or this hotel should be blacklisted, as these type of hotels are spoiling Travel guru�s image. Hotel Annai Residency was not one of the best hotels I've been to. But for the price that we paid (3700 for 3 nights - 2 bedrooms), I think that is expected. The most disappointing thing was that the room had no proper ventilation, the only window had a view of the sewer pipes, some discarded beer cans and liquor bottles and absolutely no sunlight so it was not surprising that I woke up at 12 pm and realised that it was day and had missed half of it. Also breakfast isn't complimentary unlike what I had been told by the travel guru rep. But it is not far from all the hot spots in the city so thats a plus, apart from the low tariffs. The receptionist wasnt very helpful a lot of times either.

Everything was good but there is one issue, travelguru assured us that breakfast will be included but hotel wont accept it and even after so many phone calls and requests, travelguru has not provided that breakfast so hotel experience is fine but travelguru has not kept his promise.

Location: The hotel is situated at a good location,easily approachable from outside. Although it was located on a busy street, it didn't bother us much because parking was there. Reception: The person sitting at the desk was polite and helpful. I asked a lot of queries but he responded with smile. Room Service: The major problem here was of language. We were unable to communicate with the staff. Cleanliness: Rooms were neat and clean. We couldn't have expected more. Dining: This was the darkest part of our stay. We took south indian dinner in the restaurant, and it was hell of an experience. Everything they served had a bad taste. It was as if they served lunch in the dinner. Overall: I was pretty satisfied with the hotel until I took that horrible dinner. So my advise would be not to take dining at all.

Checkinn was hassle free . Room was spacious and clean. bUT If u look out of a small window you see the wall of next building in 2ft! All the handles of cupboard, toilet flush are broken,, they are neatly fixed but if u touch, it comes in your hand. Tap was leaking all the time. AC remote wouldn't work. Complimentary breakfast starts only after 9-00am!! Front desk clerk was arrogant . Not a good option
