We had a mixed experience while our stay at Hotel Vijayentra, 108, Kamaraj Salai, Pondicherry, India. We were shocked by the fact that the hotel was having no food service, though resturant exist in the campus. The good thing about the hotel is the location, connectivity to the rail station, bus station and beach, and a ATM machine within the campus. But! there are plenty to worry as the maintenance of the room are pathetic. Cockroche of all sizes, no water kettle and drinking water, dampen room walls, torn bedsheets, broken cupboard handles and arogant receptionist..... It's better to call and make sure what is advertised is correct.

I stayed for 3 nights and two days. The property is very good and spacious. Room was of big size, well ventilated with lots of natural lighting. AC was good enough but fan's knob was broken. Service was good in the sense that staff was cooperative and what ever was asked for was provided quickly. The property can easily be converted into a good three star hotel, but it is very very poorly maintained. There is no such thing as house keeping for maintenance of property. It runs like cheap lodge. The bed linen and towels were old and look anything but white. Bathroom was dirty and was cleaned only on next day on request. Worst thing there was no breakfast or room service in hotel except for tea. For every thing you have to go out for eating in any nearby restaurant.It is not worth the money we spent.

Clean hotel..A/C rooms for hot pondicherry weather feels great..Washroom has ventilation problem other than that everything is awesome.. Booked through the phone and was able to checkin at 6 am... I would suggest this hotel for sure..

We got this hotel after searching at 10 other hotels which were full due to festivals. Reception was fine & parking space ample. No restaurent is a drawback but they are shortly opening hotel Devi with nob veg fare. Many dining/breakfast options are available nearby at walking distance. Hotel observe no liquor policy. This maybe a good option while staying with family. Basic hygeine, cleanliness & ammenities can be expected. It is value for money option when you just need to sleep at night.

We stayed over last weekend at this hotel.Centrally located and clean rooms at a very affordable price.Good air conditioning and guest friendly service.The only disadvantage is this hotel does not have a restaurant .Only coffee ,tea is available.Several Good restaurants for Veg and Non veg food located very close to the hotel Ample parking space available.

A decent hotel in the heart of the town (though Pondicherry itself is a small town) and quite good. Pros : Location, spacious car parking, spacious room, free toiletries. Cons : No restaurant though morning coffee is provided by room service, very near to the street which leads to a lot of disturbance, room service is very poor (had to insist twice to clean the room and change the bedspreads), not so clean toilets. An above average hotel with a good car parking and in the heart of the city from where you can easily access all parts of the town. If they improve their room service and add a restaurant, would give it 5 stars.

Hotel location is good but apart from this everything else is terrible. I got one room booked for 1 night through one of my colleagues who reached pondy one day earlier. I inquired through phone about the facilities and tariff of the rooms but they insisted to ask through email then I sent them an email for the same but I did not get any reply. But I checked in to the hotel thinking that If hotel is ok then I will stay here for 10 days but because of - 1. No restaurant within the hotel 2. Bathrooms were not clean and toilet paper, soaps , towel, jet etc were not available/working. 3. TV was CRT and very bad picture quality. Local cable connection was there. Very few non regional channels were available. 4. Worst thing I faced was at the checkout time after spending one night over here. Staff charged me for 2 night saying that you are checking out after 25 hours(1 hour extra). They did not tell me anything about checkout policy while checking in--whether it is 24 hours system or 12 noon check out system. Then I searched few hotels and finally decided to stay at Ginger.
