The room was clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable. Restaurant has a nice menu and staff service is quick. Overall a good heritage property.

Although this was initially my third option of hotel, I was delighted with the choice. It is a delightful heritage hotel with very helpful staff and an excellent restaurant menu. We made one or two suggestions which were immediately dealt with - so a very happy experience.

Hotel is located in the heart of the city. Our room was well maintained with all the facilities. The service provided by the staff was good. We had our breakfast in the restaurant, it was lovely in taste. This is an above average hotel.

My stay was very comfortable and we enjoyed a lot. Room service was efficient and staff was caring. The room alloted to me was extremely comfortable and cleanliness was totally up to the mark. Food was also tasteful. It was a worth while property.

Me and my wife walked into the restaurant at le Dupleix in the evening, the first thing that we were asked was did we have reservations. We said, we did not and we were ushered into the restaurant inside. There are two seating areas - one outside and the other a/c seating area inside. We staff was courteous. But slowly we noticed that all Indian families or couples were ushered in the a/c seating area whereas all westerners were seating outside, which is a lovely place with a live performance. The staff attending to the foreign guests were in formal attire (read suited) whereas the ones attending the guests inside were not. It was more than a co-incidence that all Indians were without reservations. Well coming to the food. Very little menu and not much French dish choices available. You would go there to try exclusively French cuisine, you would be disappointed like we were. We ordered 3 types of chicken tikkas with garlic naan. We had to return the dish since it did not contain the three types as the menu said. Once back in the kitchen the dish took a long time to come back again. This time the tikka was too salty for any palate. The white sauce penned pasta was good but nothing spectacular about it that you don't find in eatery similar to this one. Overall poor experience of food and felt that these guys are out there to impress the westerners and if you area an Indian, you are not that welcomed.

Such wonderful personal care by the excellent staff who looked after everything from car transport to food, water and plans. The location is fantastic and the restaurant is very good as well - we dined out a few times and decided to eat at the hotel after that! The hotel itself is quaint but really needs refurbishment and maintenance to justify its price eg the shower did not work well and the vanity taps had almost no water coming out - all in all shabby but chic. We did stay over New Year and this bumped the price up - the NYE banquet was great though!!. Overall the staff do more than make up for the negatives in the physical aspects of the rooms.

We stayed here for 2 nights with family. The place is really good and the hotel staff's hospitality stands out. They even upgraded our room on request and this was just amazing for our 2 year daughter.

When visiting this place, do keep in mind that the town doesn't has a night-life. Even most of the restros and bars are shut by 10 or 10:30 in the evening! Went for a business trip and chose this boutique hotel. The reception desk is good, got an upgrade! The location is in the white town (away from beach). This property is a boutique hotel (without escalator) with very interesting interiors. The room was very spacious and beautifully done with nice amenities. And the staff is very courteous. Though the breakfast buffet is limited in choices, the food is delicious for in-dining orders. Only things missing are food for late night cravings and a swimming pool! Nice place to stay!

Le Dupleix has retained it's old world charm and that's the beauty about the place. Stay here only if u like such old heritage properties as it doesn't have a lift and the flight of stairs can get exhausting. The menu is limited and one has to go over to their other property called Promenade for breakfast. The staff do their best to make your stay comfortable and that's a plus point. The rooms are small and therefore check with the property on which room will be allocated to you. We were lucky to get upgraded
