Overall excellent. Our top choice for next year vacation. Right from check-in to check-out, every interaction with the staff is very professional with levels I have seen only in foreign countries. Unlike other places where I have stayed, this place doesn't nickel and dime you. Our best vacation yet. As a vegetarian, the menu gets boring fast, but the preparation is top class excellent that you don't mind the boring menu. The whole property is spotlessly clean with flowering plants and green grass all around. Pool is the center piece and it shows in it maintenance.
We had a wonderful stay at le pondy. Service is excellent. The only thing i felt average was the food. The buffet lunch and dinner was of average taste for the price charged. Overall i woud rate le pondy as very good. They have a private beach which is very neat. Garden, pool, dining area and rooms are very well maintained.
Le Pondy was a wonderful experience. very happy with room quality and we all enjoyed the stay there. I would suggest hotel to put up more photographs of their website which will give the actual feel of the hotel which is currently not visible. The staff was hospitable and actully we did not feel like going out as the hotel was very nice. very nice swimming pool.
Le Pondy is located farther from Pondicherry but does provide a scenic beauty of Ocean and Lake. The Private beach, as promised by hotel, is being maintained and provides a serene atmosphere. Hotel premises is clean and neatly maintained. The Service staff live up to the expectation. Though the choice of food are limited, the staff is good and Chef gives personal attention and tries to reach out to every hotel guests. As far as areas of improvement are concerned, the hotel should have good balance of TV channels that they provide. Currently it is more dominated by regional channels.
It is a great place for a weekend ,the staff is one of the most friendliest I have come across. I guess I have had a great stay and my daughter really enjoyed the stay more than anybody else.

What I most remember about this Hotel is that the bathroom of our room (119) included a rolled down screen instead of an outside door which pretty much invited mosquitoes in; we were with a group and I know most if not all of the others had the same room format. We didn't get bit much but it created undue stress. Breakfast was uninspired.
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of days. As a "tropical" resort, the place is truly charming and has a lot of potential. There needs to be some work done to upgrade the rooms to a better standard (lighting, furniture, etc.), but all in all worthwhile. We particularly liked the amazing restaurant with the variety of South Indian and European cuisines, the pool area, the vegetation on the premises and the layout. The beach was some distance away, but pretty clean. Not that anyone was actually lying on the beach, but for a morning it afternoon stroll it was nice. Staff need to be trained in hospitality techniques. They show little enthusiasm. Specially at the reception. Like others have pointed out, amenities could be improved. The only thing that was a bit frustrating was this business of having to check the minibar at checkout, which was took half an hour. What's with this anyway? It makes one feel untrustworthy! Maybe they should point this out as one of their procedures so one is prepared for it.
The resort itself is beautiful with with a private beach. The resort is luxurious without being ostentatious. I really loved the blend of tradition with modern in the architecture. The restaurant inside could do with a additions to the menu. It would be a perfect spot for a family vacation or a honeymoon.
We are not that kind of people who r interested in bricks and monuments. We love nature and nature identical destinations. Didn't had much to do or see in white town Pondicherry, except for visiting few churches, cathedrals and one off eating out. we were largely confined to this lovely resort le Pondy. They have private beach, we all loved sitting and playing by the sea side. Evening we spent sitting in their marvellous balcony enjoying divine evening sea side breeze. Due to our laziness and may b we were "tired" couldn't visit paradise beach, which required boating.
All of us specially my kid enjoyed the stay at Le Pondy. The staffs were very accomodating and the ambience too good. A la carte orders take some time but the buffet spread was decent. The room was neat and clean. The private beach access is the USP. Overall , had a good stay at Le Pondy.
