Overall this was a nice hotel away from the hustle bustle of the city. The staff were polite. However, keeping in mind the tariff, I felt the rooms were ordinary but quite neat & clean. Swimming pool was something that I would like to revisit this place. The restaurant had limited food options and was relatively more expensive than any up scale restaurant in Bangalore. Overall a descent experience.

The best thing in the hotel is their Swimming pool. It could have been great if the room had a TV.

Very pretty hotel. Enjoyed our stay. Note that it is closer to Auroville and is about 15-20 minutes from Pondicherry. We stayed in the Thai Cottage which is very cute, quaint and simple. There isn't any air-conditioning in the room which could be an issue during very hot days but we didn't have too much of a problem with it. Beautiful wooden balcony literally on top of the swimming pool. Would recommend the room more for couples as the bathrooms in the room are not your typical ones and offer very little privacy with curtains instead of doors amongst other things. Very quiet area which we loved, away from the busy and noisy city atmosphere. Not too much variety in food but everything we ate was delicious. Some of the waiters gave very good descriptions of the dishes which helped in our selection. The cheese made in Mango Hill itself is amazing! Staff were very friendly and helpful with most queries. The swimming pool is amazing with a tree in the center and platforms lined around it for you to sit comfortably submerged in water. A simple spa that offers good ayurvedic massages. There seems to be a slight issue with insects when the jets in the pool are switched off in the evenings and you can see little bunches of insects swimming around the pool. The balcony has sliding doors that leave a few gaps around it and as it was the rainy season we had a few insects creeping in at night. Mango Hill serves beer as alcohol options and not much else. We'd been told about their mojitos by a friend which is why we asked and slightly hesitantly offered only post 7pm but on our second night they seemed to have run out of rum after one drink. The lack of nice restaurants and beach side sit outs not serving alcohol seems to be an issue across Pondicherry though. Overall enjoyed our stay a lot and if we do recommend or come back Mango Hill would be our choice.

This was really a gem of a hotel situated in the outskirts of pondicherry, in a peaceful setting, felt like a million miles away from lives hectic pace. The mango hill is tastefully decorated and rooms were really beautiful offering nice balconies overlooking the massive well designed pool. Check in was fast and we arrived at 08:00 and were allowed to check in straight away to our room, which was great!! As it should be 12:00! The food was very very good on par with any european restaurant which I had been really missing since leaving europe almost 2 months ago. This hotel deserves much recommendation, my two Indian friends that I also took with me thoroughly enjoyed too and were really impressed , overall a great experience and would not hesitate to return there in the near future,
