Please find the incident happened within 2 hours of our visit to hotel :- 1) We called to the hotel as soon as we entered pondicherry, the response was extremely shocking, the person shouted on us for so early check-in (it was just starting). 2) Somehow we checked-in by 04:00 AM, and got the second blow, as there were no rooms available. 3) Within 10 min he showed us 2 rooms, stating thy are AC rooms, but there was noting which looks like an AC in the rooms. 4) When I literally showed him that this is called AC, which is absent in my room, he confirmed that it was non-AC room, and he will adjust the cost ( don't know why and for what reason). 5) Next incident have pissed us off, initially the rooms were not cleaned they were full messy, but somehow they arranged it wit-in half an hour, but as soon as two of my friends hit the bed, they saw a live lizard walking on the bed, can't explain the thoughts goes on the mind...it was really unexpected

I booked the hotel for 2 days and actually stayed for 1 day and while checking out hotel i requested them to give copy of bill to check with Travel guru for getting money back for one day stay. The xerox copy given by the receptionist to me was tore in front of me by the supervisor which is VIOLENT, UNRULY & UNACCEPTABLE behaviour. I would suggest people not to choose MGR regency for their stay. It's not clean, no hot water, they don't respond to calls, room is dirty, no blankets, toilet is terrible, no towels provided, common areas are dark and in one say " It was a terrible experience".

The hotel is a good place for budget traveller. Cleanliness of the rooms is good and the rooms are spacious with clean bath/toilet. TV worked fine and hot water was also available. Room service was decent. We ordered some tea and coffee. There is a good chettinad hotel on the ground floor for those who like that kind of stuff. The hotel is not in the main french area and is within 10 mins drive distance. Would definitely recommend this hotel for those looking for good quality budget accommodation in Pondicherry.

A very nice budget hotel to stay. Friendly service and helpful staff.Located very near to bus stand.Staff behavior is very good.they allowed to check-in early.Room services is awesome.Neat and Clean :)

II always try to book after going by trip advisor rating and make it a point to write back for people should know. We booked MGR regency as it was long weekend of 15th Aug as we did not get any other room. This was done through make my trip, the pictures shown in here are I guess 10 years old for the place is not the way it is shown. The service is pathetic and most of the rooms AC did not work, we had booked four rooms. First day they said that combo breakfast is available but they were not prepared for the influx of huge number and there were no servers, one man on the front desk was doing all the tasks and he was getting irritated by our constant demands. We were eleven of us with three kids who were constantly asking for things as we reached on the same morning. Food on day one was okay, but the same menu on second day for complementary was manageable. Keep away from this place if possible! have created habit of writing my reviews for whenever I try to book hotels

Room and bathroom was clean and comfort. Free Breakfast was not good, as it took 45 mintues to serve and been told that they were out of gas and only offered two varieties. If you want a quick stay and close to vinayaka temple, aurobindo ashram, beach and then its ok to stay at this hotel. customer Service is just ok

This hotel sucks big time. Despite us reaching hotel 3 hours late from our checking time, the room wasn't ready. The staff made us wait in a dirty lobby for nearly an hour. They didn't even provide us towels or bed-sheet or even water. Room service is pathetic and staff is even worse. They don't even talk properly if you request them for something. Please don't make any bookings unless you have no other option left in Pondy.

I went to pondy with my GF. I Checked in here at 10 am morning. The room was clean and maintained well. The most important thing for me is bathroom and toilet cleanliness. It was satisfying for me. They also had chettinadu restaurant which had decent food. The big plus here is the hospitality. It was awesome. They responded immediately when we call for help or any requirement. I would definitely recommend this place.
