I have booked 4 and 3 rooms on 6th and 7th Sept respectively (total 7 rooms for 21 pax) My group reached Pondicherry on 17th Sept at 4:00 PM and that time hotel manager told us that he is having only 4 rooms available and rest of the 3 rooms will get after 1-2 hours as Travel Guru did not confirmed the booking for 3 rooms till 15th Sept (as per me if travel guru booked room on 15th then even he will have to provide us rooms on 17th ....and the 2nd question is on travel guru's crediability is why they didn't book room on 7th Sept when I already made the payment)...somehow we got 5 rooms and manager promised that he will arrange rest of the 2 room ASAP (When I asked to look for other hotel and money back, I got reply that I can look for other hotel but I will have to claim my money from travel guru....where as no one from travel guru checked with us .. whether we checked-in or not or how was the hotel, behaviour of staff, cleanliness etc etc...) We have received all 7 rooms at 9:00 PM, but almost for all the rooms they did not provided extra bed (only for 3-4 rooms it was provided around 11:00 PM) and we have to accomodate with the existing space available with us. (one room no 401 was arranged in different building which was a residencial apartment ..) apart from the room availability and the extra bed, we didn't face any issues from the hotel side, and the hotel staff was good and showing samphaty :) on our situation.... but I am not at all happy with the services provided by Travel Guru No one from travel guru contacted us even hotel manager called travel guru abt the room availability (and I was not having any other option then to wait for other rooms), don't know what was the issues but I can say we sufered One good this was hotel guys allowed us to be in rooms till 2:00 PM on our check-out day. For Travel Guru: Sending such type of feedback form after the visit is of no use as I faced issues in pondicherry but no one was there from the 3rd party like travel guru to sort this out for us.

This hotel is a good option for the budget traveller and for short stays. The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. However, it must be noted that here there are no dining and car parking facilities in this hotel.

I had visited Pondicherry twice in a week with friends. Both the times I chose to stay at Raj Residency. We stayed at the loft room which was comfortable. It is an ideal room for a group of friends. The hotel was renovated recently and is designed beautifully. The location is also ideal as it is close to the bus stand. The manager Mr.Shyam helped us with all our requirements and also helped us arrange two wheelers for commuting within the city. The buffet breakfast offers a large variety of south Indian cuisine. Would definitely stay here on my next visit for the hospitality and cleanliness.

Lovely Place. It has the classic Pondicherry feel when you look at it from the outside. Although it is a bit away from the city, the rooms are excellent. Very neat and clean. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly.

We stayed 2 nights in this property, which is closer to all major sightseeing locations in Puducherry. This property was renovated recently and it looks very neat both from outside and inside. I was really happy with the big bathrooms with high-quality fixtures. The complimentary breakfast provided was also pretty decent. Even though they don't have a restaurant for lunch and dinner, there are many options within a radius of 1-2 kilometers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and would prefer to stay when we go to Puducherry again. Keep up the good job guys!!

It was during the Pooja Holidays weekend when I went to Chennai, I decided for a quick trip to Pondicherry for a getaway with my aged parents and a couple of my young nephews. In the account of my past experience with Stayzilla, which was good, I decided to make my bookings through them. Since it was a quick trip, I chose a normal hotel instead of a resort. While making the booking a hotel called "Raj Residency" popped up that has got decent review ratings and nominal tariffs. I booked two air-conditioned deluxe rooms at Rs. 3114, that I paid in advance to avoid any issues. Stayzilla had sent a contact number to reach out to as I reach Pondy for logistics support. On my drive from Chennai to Pondy, I tried calling the number and after several attempts, I got through. The person gave another number whom he claimed will be helping me out with my stay. That person told me that the hotel that I have booked, Raj Residency is under renovation, and he's offering me a stay at their sister concern - Ramana Residency, which he claimed as equally good. Since there were hardly any options left, we obliged and took directions from him. As we reached Pondy, I realized that this particular lodge (i cannot call it a hotel) is located in a dark and dingy alley - that is extremely difficult to even reach driving an Innova. But since it was too late to look for another option and it was a matter of a night we had to settle with taking up whatever that was given to. But what followed was something that could not be qualified by any better term than "disaster". I am going to list my harrowing experience as following. 1. Ramana Residency is nothing short of substandard and unlivable. 2. It was located in a dark and dingy alley that was difficult to access and unfriendly for families to stay 3. The rooms are in a pathetic condition. The door of the room was in a broken condition and was unsafe (check the photograph) 4. The air conditioner was functioning erratically. 5. There was neither a room service nor a decent restaurant in the proximity. And all we had a was a helper who purchased the food from outside (god knows from where it was) which was nothing but unconsumable 6. The air conditioner drain was connected to the bathroom floor directly and the water was flowing throughout keeping the bathroom floor wet (check the photo) 7. The blanket provided was soiled and stained, and not sure when was the last time the same has been cleaned. 8. The roof of the room was wet and fungus infested, which is hazardous 9. Access to the hotel was narrow and difficult to access and there was only facility available for one small car to park 10. The helper/room keeper was asking for money to clean the room while we were vacating. These were just a few things we were made to face during our one night stay. Somehow we managed to stay for a day and quickly vacated. While returning i checked out the ongoing rates of "Ramana" and realized that the same was Rs.2120. That means that I was not just given to live in this hell hole, but also overcharged by Rs.1000. As I reached back, I send a detailed note to Stayzilla, who hardly paid any heed to compensate for me other than expressing their sympathies and promise to delist the hotel from their properties (which I as post this they are yet to realize). I have given enough time to them for responding to me, before going public. Unfortunately, they decided not to. So I am here posting this. I believe service industry thrives on the quality of the services and the sincerity to deliver it. My experience shows that neither Raj/Ramana or Stayzilla has no respect to the customer experience and service quality. So I suggest the customers can make a judicious choice before deciding to opt for such a terrible service provider.

Good hotel to stay. Breakfast is also good It is in center of the city. Beach is near by to the hotel. Hotel in good condition, clean. But it is little expensive according to services. We booked this through oyo rooms
