Property is very good. Room alloted was large with all the basic facilities. Service was quick and prompt. Staff was well trained and polite. Amenities were good like swimming pool, gym etc. Dining option was awesome. Location was very convenient.

Hello I have been here for 2nights and 3days .It was immense pleasure to stay in such hospitality and friendly staff.All the requirements were given full priority.The food and the deserts were too good and there were live counters to.And a perfect spot for leasiure and reenergising your body.

nice location and you can have 20 minutes boat travel to reach this island. 20+ resorts available for stay. surrounded by kayal. food qulity is ok. swimming pool is available, but restricted for ladies with salwar. swimming suit is necessary.

Poovar Estuary Island resort has an island with a beach and the Arabian Sea beyond, an estuary giving way to a lake and subsequently, the Poovaru (river). There is a vantage point upfront with recliners from where all of them form part of one panoramic view. The island is sandy for the most part (land reclaimed and silted) and looks over to the lake on one side, the sea on the other. There are fishing hamlets at the far end of the island amidst the backdrop of the coconut groves that abound in Kerala. There are boats that ferry people from the resort to the island and the boat-jetty is operational 24 hours if prior notice is given. Near the boat-jetty is Seaweed, the seafood restaurant. It was in shambles during our visit. There is a shop for curios, souvenirs and the like. Hammocks are hoisted up here and there en route to the resort. The restaurant serving food buffet style is the food centre and the culinary highlight of the trip for me is curry leaves drink for breakfast. The evening we checked in at Poovar we (mother, sister and I) are spectators to a great flocking and flight of crows out of a thickly forested island. Their appearance in huge numbers makes the forest seem a cauldron; their cawing is all that can be heard. Against the sky, they seem like black strips of paper flapping and flying about. In moments, they are gone.

If I can summarize my day at the resort, then it will be Elegant property let down by mournful service. When you decide to spend a day at a resort, its always to forget the daily stress of life and to enjoy life peacefully for your stay. In this note, I decided to go with my friends to this resort for a day so that all of us can enjoy and release the stresses of daily life. Distressed to say, the day spent on the resort and talking to their employees have given me and my friends more stress than a week of our normal life. The behavior of the Customer Service was beyond atrocious, making us change our plans to their wish under duress. Let me give a category wise review : Property : Large, well maintained and peaceful. Property was designed to ensure that the patrons who reach the resort, have peace and are away from noises of the world. Cleanliness : Good. The cleaning staff could be seen around ensuring that the property was well maintained. The lawns and the flora was beautifully maintained. Staff : Most were uncomfortable interacting with us, when we moved away from the local language. They had issues communicating with us and also in understanding our requirements. Food & Beverage : Not good. Most of my friends could be seen moving between the two dining halls for the various food items. The food lacked taste in most cases. Non Veg servings of chicken and fish tasted the same. Unfortunately, even the veg part of the food was also having the same issues with quality. The only saving grace was the curd rice and the pickles. Dessert servings of ice cream was more of water than milk and the local delicacy of payasam tasted like water. Customer Service : If I dont say anything about this, the better. When the booking was made and in the interactions with the sales and marketing team, we had given our specific demands and the same were agreed. None was present when we reached the resort. The service manager, when asked, was blaming his sales counterpart openly. Communication between the departments seems to be lacking. Punctuality for the services given were not present as they was delaying on whatever service we sought. One person in the group requested a bandage for a cut in his leg and it was not even given even after repeatedly seeking. If you ask me or anyone in my group regarding this resort, then our only opinion is PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND VISIT A PLACE WHICH AT LEAST TREAT YOU PROPERLY.

Not at all helpful manager and customer service at poovar island resort... If we ask for details they are so stubborn and say they will mail u back or call. None of this happened.. Had to get in via other sources.. Hi time they change attitude
