We had gone to Wandoor Village on a family Holiday, as part of a larger Andaman Holiday Package. The Anugama Resort was where we stayed at Wandoor. A very friendly front office, although the Telephone Number provided on the Travel Guru Booking Intimation was very difficult to get through. The style of management gives the place a very friendly and homely touch, without detracting from professionalism. They were also very flexible about my request for late check out (they could, because they had the room free, they explained). The landscaping is good - there was a small pond outside our room, in which lotus flowers bloomed in the morning. The resort is next to a paddy field that got flooded during the Tsunami (ie, it has the appearance of being next to a lake). The beach itself is 5 km away from the Resort, and one may either walk, cycle or go by autorickshaw, if one does not have a car/jeep. The Resort is about 30 km from Port Blair. In January 2014, a rickety black-and-Yellow taxi charged us Rs 800 each way from/to Port Blair. Good AC cabs may charge higher. The Resort has 3 bicycles which they offer to residents. Hopefully, they will increase the number of bicycles, since we found it very practical. To get about, autorickshaws can also be hired, either by waving down a passing rickshaw (which we found to be very difficult), or by calling for one (through the hotel staff). Cater for about 15-30 minutes delay for the autorickshaw to show up. In the tarrif plan offered to us, a basic Breakfast (1 egg, 4 toasts with butter & jam, coffee/tea) was included. The Restaurant has an Indian Menu. Food was tasty. We found the Rooms to be very comfortable. The rooms are concrete structures on stilts, with aluminium roofs, and a false roof over the bedroom area to keep out the heat. The windows have curtains of bamboo strips - which is OK, but slightly cumbersome. They are in the process of stringing up additional curtains and/or opaque films over part of the windows. One of the foreign tourists was found expressing pleasant surprise that the owner speaks excellent German. Overall, a good stay. We enjoyed it.

Good people, Excellent service. Calm location, simple living, location and facilities were as described and shown in the website. The chef (Srikumar) and his wife were very good people and prepared good vegetarian food for us. I must especially mention Rakesh and Deepak. Both were guiding us well during the trip. They were very supportive and friendly. They connected us with the right people, helped us with a pick up and drop service, and very respectfully fulfilled our needs. We stayed for 3 nights between 25th and 28th May 2014. And again, stayed for a night on 30th May 2014. IN between, we went to Neil Island. All in all, an interesting stay. Will go and stay again :-)! Please note that the resort is more value for money and we do not expect 5-star comforts. And is a quiet place away from the city far from the maddening crowds. If you like such a location, then this is the place for you.
