Only good points about this hotel is its food and location. Location is in Aberdeen market where you can get plenty of shops. Also the major tourist spots in Port Blair are within 10-15 minutes ride from this place. Food served is simple and homely. The outside look of the hotel is very poor as it is a very old hotel and its condition is deteriorating. Rooms are small and ill maintained. Although staff behavior is good, the behavior of Manager is not friendly.

Terribly bad Terribly bad

Terribly bad hotel: Geysers of AC rooms were not working properly ( checked out two separate rooms: room no.203 and 201), water supply condition horrible. Plastering of some rooms has come out, and they are not at all bothered. Management is even worse: not at all acceptable. Saw another visitor complaining: the reception guy bluntly said, Geyser not available for non AC rooms, in a very rash tone. Changed the very next day. Star rating: -5 ( minus 5 ) Recommendation: Don't ever book this one. Better chose Western park or RAM niwas in vicinity ( 3 mins walk)

I booked this hotel via Clear Trip for a short stay in PB. A few days later I was told the hotel had cancelled my booking because I was not and Indian National. I was told VERY clearly that they only let Mainland Indians stay at the hotel. Discriminate much? Upon arriving in Port Blair I did walk by this hotel and thank goodness the booking was cancelled. What a dump.

1. Top location right at the heart of Port Blair on Aberdeen Bazar. You get plenty of fooding and transport options around the clock tower. But all other amenities u expect from a normal budget hotel are lacking here. 2. Not a hotel. Its a lodge. Online tariff is lower than direct bookings. No discounts offered for long term stays even during off season. 3. Manager is Tamil who behaved very rudely with us and few other North Indians staying in the hotel. However hotel boys are reasonably polite, hospitable and are mostly Bengalis. 4. Hotel entrance and outside view are just awful, off coloured, dirty balconies, withered sign board and so on. U will think twice before climbing the stairs. Reception at 1F, rooms spread across 1F & 2F (no lift). Only 2 shops in GF. Difficult for elderly people to take the steep clumsy stairs. 5. Rooms are too average. AC takes time to cool 2F rooms (top floor). 6. Roadside rooms are noisy but lively. Backside rooms are quiet but no view. 7. Has a restro which serves very homely food of ur choice (mostly thali type). But u have plenty of options outside in a stone throw distance. 8. Last but not least, do not get deviated by the photogenic pictures of the hotel on various websites. I found them very misleading upon reaching the hotel.

- location of the hotel is very good, but the service is not satisfactory.I would not recommend this hotel as i would not like the behavior of the manager who is rude & ill mannered. The rooms are average.Only positive side is the location of the hotel but sometimes u find too noisy.

Demo Trip If you happen to book this, ask for a room with a view of the road. They are not dark at least.
