Hotel is smaller than I expected, rooms were of average size and clean. Restaurant was bigger than expected and they served good food.. had lunch and dinner there. Limited parking and you enter the hotel straight from the road.
Service was good, they made quick packed sandwich, juice and fruits as we had to take early morning ferry to Havelock Islands. Room was clean however the Air conditioning in one of the room we took was not great and the lighting in one of the rooms were not good - made you feel sleepy. I had some trouble with the electronic room locks in one of the rooms. Not too many places around the hotel to walk around.... perfect for transit stay. I thought Makruzz pier is close to this hotel however I was told Makruzz have moved to a different pier - if I had known this, I would have opted for a different hotel (maybe) but still no regrets for transit stay.
Few things to remember and that\s common in Port Blair.. phone connectivity is poor in most of the places (even with BSNL it's not great but I'm told BSNL is the best - I took a BSNL SIM just for this trip and my other numbers Airtel and Vodofone were equally bad), data on phone just forget it, limited internet which is very slow even in hotels hence don't plan your trip basis credit cards. Credit cards do not work in many hotels due to network issues, so carry cash !
This was very good and really and really

We were given a small corner room and since we were travelling with a baby, we requested the receptionist to provide a little more spacious room like the one you see on their D.P (display picture) now. This was initially declined citing that they were no rooms available however when we realised they dont have hot water facility, they immediately shifted us to room no 102. The room was better off from the first one however we had no hot water flowing from their tap in this room as well. Turns out that since the weather was cloudy, their solar panels didnt get charged up. The receptionist was not of much help. We had to literally heat up the kettle a half dozen times to take a hot water bath. As a hotel, I would expect them to have alternatives in place such as an immersion heater so that the customers dont have to go through the laborious ordeal.
Coming from mainland India, do not expect food to be all great however if you stick to eating from the hotel, try something simple - comfort Indian dishes like Dal Tadka, Veg Kadai, Rice, Roti that cant go wrong no matter where you are. We were little adventurous and tried their Fish and Chips but I highly recommend you to avoid it, unless you like French fries smelling and tasting like Fish.
You need to check out at 8.30 or 9am. Thats how it works in most hotels out here but they were kind enough to keep your luggages for couple of hours in case you are headed out for sightseeing.
Food - 3.5/5
Service - can do much much better
