Poor Stay Poor Stay

by panks_41086 on January 27, 2017

Our stay here was not that good. When we reached here we got to know that Swimming Pool & Bar both were not in the working condition. Rooms without open bathroom were OK. But rooms with open bathroom were dangerous. In one of the rooms we found a MONSTER LIZARD it was so horrible. We immediately changed the room. Food was also not up to the mark. Hospitality was also poor. Only thing I liked was the location.

Quaint...1980s Quaint...1980s

If I have to describe this place in one sentence, it would be "A pristine resort in the midst of a jungle, run as though we are in the 1980s". One thing very noticeable is that the staff just does not smile. They are very caring and do a good job, but they dont smile. But that aside, this place is a lovely concept. Wood cottages set in between lush greenery. The dining area overlooks the beach. It is very very far from the city, so transport could be a challenge. For some reason, the place takes you back to the 1980s. Old music playing in the dining area, all bathroom equipment really old and even some parts of the bathroom seem to have not been repaired since 1980s. This is a unique experience place.

We reached at about 12pm, same as check in time. Room was allotted within 10 min. The place is remotely located quite far off from main city, at about 15 kms or 30 min distance. The surroundings are picturesque, with tall trees and cottages / huts located at different levels at some distances away from each other. Overall ambiance is nice.Once inside the room, the facilities are normal. The cottages are old and not renovated. Toilets too are in having old fixtures and are in un-maintained condition, requiring urgent renovations. This resort was booked by MAKE MY TRIP for our package, probably therefore we did not get a good response from the staff. Food is good, whether taken at room or restaurant. Staff too is polite, but service requires several repeated calls. You have to depend on resort or tour operator for local travel. There are no public taxis in Port Blair. Always Better to stay near city / airport area when on short trips, unless you have many days of leisure.

A peaceful abode in Port Blair. A peaceful abode in Port Blair.

You can love this place only when you like peace, nature, beauty and loneliness. It is located at least 15 kms from the main city up hill. Surrounded by trees and view of Bay of Bengal and peace. You wont find nothing around this Resort. Even 30% of rooms were not filled. But rooms were entirely made of woods, I got booking in deluxe cottage with sea view. A very big room with open top bathroom. You would feel in nature's lap. But you don't have much to do other than gazing at nature and enjoying the peace. They have a bar (empty mostly). A restaurant with jungle view. Although limited menu but you don't have any other choice. A swimming pool is also there. Other than these you can only walk around the campus between woods. A Krishna temple is also at the campus. Good for a day's stay if you enjoy peace. Because second day is going to be heavily boring.

Pleasent environment, Good food, away from city Pleasent environment, Good food, away from city

Ambiance: 4/5 Food : 4/5 Cost: 3/5 Hospitality : 4.5/5 Amazing food and beautiful environment Only draw back is its little away from the city, otherwise amazing Great place to stay, Only tip: make sure travel arrangements are proper as day ends early in Andaman and its tough to get an Auto/Taxi post 9 PM to reach resort. Best way is to rent a bike which saves so much of money and time, gives you pleasure diving through forest , nature
