The hotel is on Chakratirtha Road, within walking distance from the railway station (if you don't have heavy luggage). It is a bit far from the Main Temple (Sri Mandir) but it is easy to get autos to and from the property. I had chosen a non-AC room on the day of Jagannatha Ratha Yatra and although I checked in late, they kept the room for me. The check out time of 8 AM is a bit inconvenient, since one would want to visit the Temple before checking out. Room was of a comfortable size with a double bed, and had a small balcony. There are several eating joints within walking distance. The best part is that the sea shore is very close. Maintenance of the rooms and property could be better, though. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay,
The hotel was clean but definitely not maintained well. It was very close to CT road beach but very far from the golden beach(swargadwar) and jagannath temple. If you want to spend some time amidst nature away from the maddening crowd then you can choose this hotel else not. Food options that are available in the nearby locality is below average so we had to spend 70/- each way for reaching swargadwar where various food options are available. Evening onwards the hotel area becomes quite secluded.
The hotel is located just few hundred km away from the beach. I visited the place with my friends and the manager was very welcoming. Rooms are good and spacious.view is also nice, the price was very reasonable. One should definitely try few chicken dishes of this hotel
We had to stay in this hotel for 7 hours. During this last week of December, all long distance trains to/ from Puri were delayed/ rescheduled abnormally. Sensing this, I pre booked this hotel for a night from their website, as our actually booked trip hotel chk out was 8am and our train was scheduled at 11am. On the depurture day the train was rescheduled at 6 pm and for this final few hrs post chk out of actual trip hotel, it was very helpful. So we moved towards this prebooked Hotel Deepak to pass out 7-8 hrs before our return journey. The hotel is on C T Road, near to Hotel Visual Plaza and very near to The Ramakrishna Math. An almost narrow dingy lane leads you to the hotel, which looks better then the other crowded low budget hotels in this area. The sea beach is near, leisure walking distance only, but this beach is unclean, not alike Golden Beach. Rooms are OK OK type just if you can manage a night stay only. Otherwise clean room, but the wash room have damp smell all over. A tiny washbasin and a commode with malfunctioning flush are the highlight of the washroom. However they gave us a comparatively clean white towel and an almost microscopic toilet soap. We stayed in the dbl deluxe AC room which had a bed, an old box TV, some empty drawers and cupboard, 2 chairs, a dressing table with mirror and an AC. Light very inadequate, don't know how dim it looks like for night stay. The room shape is very odd, in between the shape of a triangle and a square. A very small private balcony is having the floor mounted AC outer unit, which when on, you can't stand in balcony due to throwing hot air. The AC has to be remote started from a switch located at reception and the in room controller functions very erratic. They also gives you a 2 lts water which is not sealed and source is unknown. However we didn't tried to drink this water or tried food at this hotel, so can't comment. Overall, if you have to stay here on emergency like us, it's recommended for a night. Peak season prices are 1400-2300 depending on rooms and lower in off seasons. Upper floor rooms are better.
We stayed in this hotel from Dec 22nd till Dec 25th. Our train was scheduled to depart at night on Dec 25th, however the check out time was 8 AM. The hotel manager did his best to provide us another room to stay for few hours till evening 4.30 PM. This was a good gesture on his part.
Our stay was overall nice. The staff were co-operative and friendly. The room was clean and had a balcony attached to it which opens to the beach view (We could barely see the beach from the balcony except on zooming our camera). Few recommendations from my end-
1) The hotel should emphasise on providing meal of good quality. On day 1. we were served food which was cold. However, subsequently they served us hot food but the taste could have been better. The tea was definitely good to our taste.
2) The staff should change towels, bathroom soaps, bed sheets while doing the cleaning everyday. During our stay, they did not change except only on asking them to change the bedsheets they did once.
3) They did arrange for our tour to Chilika lake but on reaching the bus stand we were met with schemozzle of buses and we had a tough time in getting our seating arrangements done. We were not aware that buses were of poor quality and it would be good if the manager could tell their customers about the real situation out there.
Hope the above points get addressed by the hotel manager. We would not mind staying at the hotel again.
