Hotel Golden Dust in Puri is very poorly managed. I am very much disappointed by the hotel managers. Mr. Majumdar and Mr. Mukherjee appeared to be very much reluctant to cater better service to the patrons. I stayed in the room no. 304 & 305 (or may be 204 and 205 cannot recollect exactly) with my family members. On our arrival at Puri on 27th Dec 09 morning, we had to stay for almost 2 hours in the reception, for room allocation. When we checked in the room it was not at all cleaned. One of the rooms did not have a master key, hence, on 29th Dec evening, my son mistakenly kept the key inside and pulled the door from outside, so it got locked. Mr. Mukherjee appeared to blame us for such mishappening. I wonder had why the hotel management did not take pain to arrange for a master key immediately after it was lost(!!!). The hotel is located on the beach, however, there is no passage made to approach the beach from the road. The road along the beach near the hotel is badly damaged due to Tsunami (so was told by them). But funniest thing is the hotel management did not bother at least to arrange enough illumination at least in front of the hotel. There was no hot water facility, in the bathroom. The hotel was from outside looks good with nice garden, the rooms are ok, but until the management takes proper care of their patrons, I don't think anyone will book the same hotel for their next trip to Puri.

The Hotel Golden Dust is far away from Puri railway station. The autorickshaw claims Rs. 100 to Rs. 150. The hotel is also in a distant place from Swargadwar, the main market of Puri. Everytime it is troublesome to get rickshaw or autorickshaw. But I must have to say that the ambience of the hotel is good. Service and food of this hotel are also good. From the rooms, the sea is not visible. The hotel stand on the widespread bay of Bengal at Marine Drive Road. The seabeach in front of the hotel is calm, quiet and clean. We enjoyed bathing in the sea. The staff of this hotel are friendly. The bathroom in each room is quite large. As there is no geyser, the boys supplied hot water in bucket.If any one likes loneliness ,solitude and privacy, and does not mind the distance from the main town, he should stay here. It should be noted that there is no light post in the sea beach. So, in the evening I felt annoyed. There is no covered car parking in this hotel. But everyone keeps his car outside the gate of the hotel. I had to pay a lot of money to the rickshawpulleres for going to the market or temple. and there was no problem at all. Lastly, I have to say that if anyone does not care for the distance from the main market, he may be suggested for staying at this hotel. Puri is an overcrowded place, so the solitude of Marine Drive Road will create mental peace.

This hotel is really good! They really have some's cheap n good...the team of workers are very friendly to the guest.. even it is decorated so well..the food n service is also very well situated near the Puri it's a positive response from myside to all the visitors who would like to book their rooms n have a great tour in Puri :)

I am writing this on behalf of my parents, who stayed there on 26-27 Dec. The hotel is small but looks decent from outside. But the shock came when the room, that was given had an Indian style toilet- unheard of these days. My parents being very old (both close to 60) made several requests to change the room which went completely unattended. I understand that the hotel could be completely booked but the bare minimum the authority could have done is informed us about this when we were making the booking. We would not have booked the hotel then. They spoke about location, sea view etc but intentionally concealed this. Service was horrible. Room was not cleaned even once in 2 days. The sea facing balcony as they claim it is so small that even two people can't stand properly and has just a glimpse of the sea and not a view. Lastly, pls avoid eating here. The food was very very bad. PS: the hotel is managed by a bunch of young people who absolutely do not care about hospitality.

I booked this hotel after reading reviews at Trip Advisor. Marine drive road is actually very far from market area or swargdwar area. It is very remote place. Though the beach is right across but its very distant and lonely. Only restaurent and balcony of one room is sea facing. They didnt have card payments facility. To go to market or to eat something or to go to temple, one has to find an auto and pay 100 rs every time. Though its recommended for honeymoon couple.

My stay at Hotel Golden Dust is like a Nightmare. The worst hotel with dirty rooms and toilets. My booking at the hotel is simply waste of money. The food is expensive and not eatable the serve two days prepared sabjee to the customer. The front desk is very irresponsible they takes the I.D proof original and forgets to return as the visitor remains in holiday mood some time may forget to collect but the manager do not return it at the time of check out. I will never recommend any body to stay at Golden Dust. Most Irresponsible staffs are there.

Hotel rooms are not sea facing only the suit room & the restaurant is sea facing. Though the the staffs are very friendly & nice but they always run out of resources. Don't have geyser in rooms. Wardrobes are infected by termites. We took 3 rooms one of them didn't have a phone connection told them several times but nobody cared & bed was also broken of the same room. Another room,bed sheet was torn, told them they didn't bother to change that as well. On top of that the owner who at the same time is the online reservation guy is very rood after payment is done. He actually told us "You will have to be in those rooms only which are been allotted to you." Just because We paid the whole amount in advance. All the good comments you will see its his friends who write these. food is bad. They have a menu card but Couldn't provide anything from that card. Transport communication is also very bad. It was a mistake that I booked that Hotel.
