I checked in at 10 a.m on 13th but the Resevation Manager Mr. Mukesh had no information about my booking or the arrival.Ruhita from Mumbai office had coodinated my booking , when I contacted to mumbai office I was toled that see was on leave.Again Mansi assured me that see will confirm my booking. Inpite of several reminders she failed to do the same. However, Hotel manager was kind enough to provide me a room with all other facilities. Upto 5 O.K. clock no information came for my booking , then, I contacted Dona and explained once again my problem. At 6.30 p.m the hotel got confirmation my booking. Pl see that such things does not happen again with someone else. I had a plan visit Kerela with family during winters and wanted to book 15 days package tour by you, which I have decided to cancel after this meserabe experience

Hotel is far from the city, which is the main negative point. Room was comfortable with all the basic amenities. The meals at the hotel restaurant was all vegetarian.

The hotel is quite far from the city and also not directly connected to the sea beach. Rooms are not well maintained and food quality was worst.

Well there is nothing to tell about the hotel as it is a STERLING! Everything is good there otherwise how would it have a good reputation. Nature is challenging it though. The approach road is no more there!!! There is a new road sanctioned by the govt. but it would take awhile. But if you want to stay in a beach resort this is the right place. Make sure you have your personal vehicle when you go there otherwise you would have to spend on transport as the approach road is still on its way. Happy stay!

This time we stayed at Starling Holiday Resort Ltd , Baliapanda Puri 752001 from 13.11.16 to 18.11.16 . The resort is amazing , customer service amazing , staff were all pleasant . The area was safe and clean . I must thank Mr. Tarun Kantigiri Goswami . Executive Asst. Manager for the hospitality from the arrival to departure . Good Day, would like to start this note as my experience during my well planned trip to Puri Goldan sands Resort. Always good to start with some bad experiences: Ahmedabad To Resort via Bhubaneshwar , A bad selection of flight early 4.30 am at the age of 65 & 59 in not too enjoyable ,leaving home at 2.00 am after a suspense if the UBER cab will come on time or not, bad expressions from the house servant of 15 years to come and stay at home to take care of our pet dog Miniature Pincher Jingle. Fortunately flight on time with mouth-watering Idli-Dosa with excellent coffee at Hyderabad airport during one hour stopover followed by once in lifetime experience of happiness of seeing our 2 check- in luggage winning the race on the belt by ranking first and second, what a proud feeling and satisfaction of owing two old luggage bags still maintaining their youth and vigour. A warm reception by my students father along with a cab at Bhubaneswar airport ,wonderful trip till Puri city followed by 45 minute time waste in search of basic essentials eggs/bread/butter etc., The last lap of any trip is worst tired, sleepy eyes over and above last piece of road till resort like sea waves. Finally destination achieved, with little cajoling at the reception by my lovely wife Anju of 38yrs.settle in a reasonably comfortable studio apartment. Phase II Starts: About the resort : Though under renovation but we can assume that this resort would have been the best of all sterling properties about a decade back, so green, vast area, close to sea beach,i had the opportunity to see three Dolphins early morning at 6.00 a.m, hopefully by 2019 we will again have chance to stay in this magnificent resort post renovation. In spite of ongoing renovation we enjoyed our stay due to other positive factors as under: The staff at reception including Ms. Sucheta are very humble, well behaved and always extending a helping hand. By now we feel they are part of our family. Restaurant: To start with , pl. put a weigh scale at the restaurant entrance door to keep track of weight gain during stay- very well planned menu for breakfast & dinner, excellent taste, credit goes to Mr. Tapan & his team. The Spa : I have been to many of them in the past but nothing like here. Mr. Gautam & Ms. Pratibha who handled me &my wife Anju, Could reduce our age by at least 10 years, they are not only excellent in their skills but are so humble, only regret, I will not be able to hijack them to Ahmedabad.( Joking). The House keeping : Not much to boast about, it does match the standards of Sterling Resort. Overall memorable stay. Mr. Paul/Ms. Sucheta and team keep up the good work you are doing. Visited 30-Sep to 4-Oct '16 and were called and informed just a week before the trip that resort was under renovation. Mind was tuned for the holiday, tickets were booked, so we decided to proceed anyway. Swimming pool was not operational. Even the paved walkways to room, lawns overgrown, and other areas of the resort could have been better maintained. A TT table, a couple carrom boards and chess tables set up in the lobby was the games room. No books/library. Billiards / pool was hidden away inside and we were not informed about it until we asked about it on hearing the 'clack' of the balls being hit. Reception and Restaurant staff made all efforts to make us feel comfortable. They arranged for transportation when the access to the beach over sand bags got washed away by the river on the second day. We were upgraded form a studio to a one bed apartment, but thinking about it now, it was probably because rest of the rooms were under renovation! Food was good. However options were very limited on the buffet spread for the price being charged. Restaurant staff very friendly, allowed our daughter to enjoy the dessert/juice etc. even through preferred to order a-la-carte. They even made local delicacies to order even if it was not on the menu. Overall a good stay, All credit to the ground reception staff for being friendly, helpful and making it a pleasant stay. However Zero marks for the Stirling management for not managing this better.

I visited Puri Golden Sands Sterling Resort this October and my travel dates were 08-Oct-2016 to 10-Oct-2016. We had booked a 1 bedroom apartment being time-share members. We confirmed our arrival with time 24 hours before our check-in date however when we arrived the room and toilet was very dirty. There was no cutlery and the electrical switches hardly worked. Walls stained and everything was super dirty. On calling housekeeping, they hardly bothered and were playing the blame game. Informed reception but they took no action even after 3 hours of our arrival. The only helpful people are the ones in the restaurant. Food is great and they come out of their way to help. When the restaurant manager over heard our conversation of problems, he volunteered to get those things taken care of, and within 30 minutes all problems were solved. Swimming pool is non-functional and filled with fungus and dust. No fan or mosquito repellants in lounge area and we were flocked. Worst holiday experience of all time.

The hotel, near the mouth of Dhaudia river, a distributary of Bhargabi, one of Odisha's large rivers, is a true hideaway. It is at one extreme end of the beach, at the end of Marine drive road near Baliapanda housing colony. The river flows in parallel to the property and that provides a great view. You can see the river from most rooms. The best part of the stay was a two hour boatride the hotel provides for a fee. We went some two km upstream to a Shiva temple and came back to the river mouth. You can also walk down to the beach near the mouth. The resort is very different from the hotels that dot the marine drive. It is built like a true resort in a larger area but we found the exteriors not so well maintained. It looks worn out. Maybe, because of the renovation that was going on when we visited. But the rooms are large and well-maintained. The one that we took is almost like a suite, with a separate sitting room and kitchen space. Hope after renovation, it will be a great place to stay. At about 3,500, it would be reasonable, if facilities like swimming pool are actually available. Now, they are closed. However, the dining experience is not good. Breakfast is from 8 to 10.30, with limited choice of buffet. Even the a la carte is costly for the quality and the service is not good. The staff is warm and courteous but the restaurant service is very slow. Overall, dining is the dark spot. But highly recommend stay as long as you eat out
