Good location with bad maintenance Good location with bad maintenance

by Anuradhau1 on November 23, 2017

Visited Pushkar for just one day in November. Stayed at hotel Sarovar, heritage hotel but very poorly maintained. Shortage of staff. Staff just interested in tips, complaining that they are not paid properly. Food just okay.

RTDC Hotel RTDC Hotel

by shaanveer on November 8, 2017

RTDC hotel Sarovar has good location. It is very near to the Pushkar Lake and one can walk anytime,e to the lake.It is away from the crowd and is very peaceful. The view from the room and the lawn is beautiful, specially early morning we could hear chirping of birds and peacocks strolling in front of us.We found the room average and clean, but the maintenance and service not up to the mark.No one to help you carry the luggage, the TV not in working condition. The AC was in a bad shape,it was working but too noisy. The hotel seems to be short of staff and the ones who were there showed casual attitude. The dinner and breakfast too simple. The Place could be the best if maintained properly. There is no intercom or Room Service.

Good place with nice view of Pushkar lake Good place with nice view of Pushkar lake

by C2Sonia on May 5, 2017

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The staff was good and cordial. Food is awesome specially the breakfast which was aloo paratha and dahi. It is close to the ghat and located next to Pushkar lake. This was the best hotel among all the RTDC hotels we visited.Though it needs proper maintenance like most of the RTDC hotels. There are two buildings old and new. The old building has nice view but a bit unsafe. You can sometimes find people sitting in your balcony at night which was quiet scary but rest we had a pleasant stay.

It is NOT a hotel, but a Heritage Palace It is NOT a hotel, but a Heritage Palace

by Rajat M on March 3, 2017

First thing first, do NOT expect it to be a hotel because it is not. It is a mission of the Rajasthan tourism to keep it's historical Palaces in working condition by turning them into a Hotel. So maybe not everybody will approve of it, but for others it's totally worth every bit. I was there during the Pushkar Camel fair of 2016 with our Pushkar camel fair tour group of FOTOFOYER Few things before you book: > It is a huge palace, roughly few hundred years old, and age does show on it's walls. > Rooms in it ranges from good newly constructed AC rooms, in it's new wing on the left, to the old rickety rooms with common bathrooms, on the first floor of the old wing. Now coming to pros and cons. PROS: > Impressive view of the Brahma kund, from the vast terrace of the palace. > Booking is genuine and secure as you book through Rajasthan tourism. > Staying there is almost like staying at any heritage site. I personally loved it. > Not at all congested. Vast spaces everywhere. > Hospital management people are simple govt/ employees. So don't expect any boot licking but they are really nice and helpful people, which you make you feel like home stay. Cons: > It is high time the old wing needs some serious renovation if they pan to keep the heritage site intact. >Breakfast is good but lunch and dinner felt like hospital food. Awfully simple and tasteless for Indian mouth. >It will be great if they can make the back gate functioning with a guard deputed at the gate so that people can easily access the lake at anytime time to their pleasing. All in all the stay there is worth if you ask me. And I think if more and more people stay there and demand for the palace to be restored to it's previous glory. I think it has the potential to be the best.

Great Location and Price, Bad Maintenance Great Location and Price, Bad Maintenance

by OrangeSunset441 on January 7, 2017

This hotel is perfectly located next to Pushkar Lake yet the price is extremely low, therefore it will be a good choice for budget travelers. For the rest, there are many downsides: 1) Wifi only in the lobby. 2) Bad maintenance - the hotel looks abandoned. 3) Poor choice of food. 4) Water flow in the shower is weak - should use the bucket. 5) Noisy, rusted AC. That said, the staff is friendly and the views are beautiful.

Demo Trip The new wing with AC rooms, if your are looking for sophistication. Try the top floor in the old wing if scenic view is what you are after.
