Best place to stay for Pushkar Fair Best place to stay for Pushkar Fair

by PaddyPix on November 21, 2016

We had been during the Pushkar Fair this year. This is the best place to stay, in case you want to visit the camel fair. The mela grounds is just across the street and it won't take you more than 1 minute to visit the fair. Also, the property is quite decently maintained with staff. Food is good and prepared on demand. The staff need to be more courteous, especially in the dining area.

This is located directly across the fair grounds. There is lots of loud music and other noises coming from the fair, it is very noisy and impossible to get any sleep. The property is not well maintained.

Big property but not maintained Big property but not maintained

i want to give 4 star because of the location. The property is big and you can park your vehicles. Staff is friendly. But it is not maintained properly. Because of off-season, there was no staff to cook dinner. Not that we mind it, as we had planned to eat outside only. Overall a nice place outside of hustling city, where you can sleep at peace.

Advantage of location, no other plus points Advantage of location, no other plus points

Staying at RTDC Tourist Hotel makes sense if one is visiting the Pushkar animal fair. It is about 7-10 mins walk from the Marwar bus stand on NH 89 and bang opposite the animal fair ground. Its a bit far away from the Pushkar lake and Brahma temple, though nothing drastic. The hotel has a beautiful lawn and pairs of cottage style rooms scattered across the lawn. However, my room was anything but great. The plumbing was faulty and the water flow was reduced to a trickle. Rooms were quite dusty and was not cleaned during the tenure of stay. The staff were courteous and sincere, but it was evident that they are not used to full occupancy at the hotel. Kitchen staff was struggling to provide food to all the occupants. Variety of available items was dismal. The hotel has a big parking area and is good for those driving in to Pushkar. There is no provision of Internet access from the hotel. The high price (almost thrice than normal rates) during the fair is not justified by the quality of service that the hotel provides. If I am visiting the Pushkar fair, I would prefer to stay here in spite of its limitations. However, at any other time, it is not that attractive to me. Summarizing: Ambience - very good, Room external - good, room internal - average (the room I stayed in), kitchen - bad, service - average, location - average, but will depend on personal preference, noise - very low.

No Better Place No Better Place

If you want visit the mela there is no better place to stay than RTDC Pushkar Mela Grounds hotel. It is bang in the centre of the grounds - you come out of the hotel and you are in the mela. Don't however depend on the restaurant here...which is decidedly pathetic and uninspiring.

Demo Trip it is best to avoid it. There are other camps a bit away from the fair grounds

by Antonio228 on July 23, 2016

Demo Trip The cottages right in front are noisy owing to the highway right outside the hotel - choose those rooms in the back of the hotel.

Demo Trip Take AC room , best

by Planet_way_round on January 29, 2014

Demo Trip Chose the aircondioned deluxe rooms, as they have a nice patio with chairs and provide an aura of safety being enlosed by a boundary. During the mela RTDC sets up a food court which runs 24 hours and can be a boon if you want a quick snack or are on a budget and dont want to waste hours waiting for your food.
