Came for the Pushkar festival. Travelling with young children. Very hospitable and the tents are great. Would recommend if you are in the area. Food was also very nice. They organised a camel cart which the children enjoyed.
We wanted to see the camel fair at Pushkar, and realised accommodation would be a bit basic. We have stayed in tents before on safaris so didn't raise our hopes too high. But this was better than we might have expected and the downsides were predominantly outside their control. The fair is manic, frantic, loud beyond belief, crushed, dusty and great. But unfortunately the ear bursting noise continues until way into the early hours and although the resort actually provides ear plugs, they do little to help you get any sleep. The staff go out of their way to help and although the food is pretty basic, it is plentiful and varied. A word of warning. The hot water is controlled (or not) by an immersion heater that you turn on half an hour before you need a shower. But the water is literally scalding. Spitting steam and vapour in every direction. I got a nasty burn which the manager was very helpful in attending, but it could have been very mush worse. Overall an amazing place to visit, worth the small problems.
Arriving 2 days before the Pushkar Fair started officially, driving into the Orchard was a dream. Perfectly located for Pushkar Fair and the town which has a wonderful bazaar, the holy lake and ghats. We tried to visit the only Brahma Temple in India but the crowds were crazy and pushy. Hospitality at Orchard was wonderful! The tents are super comfortable and the food at the dining tent was beautiful. A BBQ was laid on on our second night and local dancers performed. A magical evening! I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to return one day. Mr Singh treated us like family and was extremely friendly and helpful!
Orchard Resort has 15 luxury tents that come with all amenities and facilities a traveller needs. I always wanted to go camping but never did for the fear of basic unkempt tents. Orchard Resort offers a great tented accommodation and you don't have to give up on any of the luxuries. The tents are huge and can easily accommodate three-four people. We were three ladies traveling with a baby and fit easily in one tent. Every tent is air-conditioned, has an attached concrete bathroom and a beautifully done dressing area. The bathroom had my favourite Biotique toiletries.. the resort clearly pays attention to details. The setting is that of Amla orchards ( thats why the name) and the resort has ample green spaces that will heal any harried urban dweller. Thankfully there is no Tv in the room. Though the wi-fi is free and the network pretty decent. The restaurant-Golghar- offers vegetarian food only (except eggs) and no alcohol as it is located in holy land Pushkar that is famous for its Brahma Temple. The food served is simple, fresh and delicious. Must try their Rajasthani thali which is sumptuous. We spent two nights at Orchard and loved the experience. It was my three month old baby's first trip and I am so glad we chose this place. He enjoyed his long walks in the pram. The resort is kid friendly (or rather baby friendly) and safe for women travelers. The resort has cycles, badminton court and archery. There is also a lovely library and lounge area. They organized a barbecue evening for all guests where we mingled with people from different countries and of course loved the kebabs served. Orchard Resort is definitely a hidden gem. Its the service which impressed me the most. I loved how the staff took care of my baby when we were busy eating. Manager Harpalji personally went around to talk to guests and ask if they needed anything. He also shared many stories of the place with us. The service was prompt and impeccable, staff friendly. The resort arranged camel cart ride for us at the dunes and we totally loved the experience of watching the sunset. It was a great holiday and Orchard gave us some beautiful memories. I am definitely going back, not only for Pushkar but for this resort.
We stayed unfortunately only 1 night in this lovely retreat with 15 tents. The tents are on excellent condition and the service of the staff was very attentive! Try the archery and enjoy the night sky. Only a little hard to find at night.
