ramgarh was my family's choice for a short and sweet break from our daily routine. we embarked on a road trip from lucknow. after a tiring journey we made our way to the hotel thanks to the decent number of hotel sign boards that made our lifes easier. the hotel which is situated on a hill have their very own parking space not a concrete one though. we were taken aback by the first glimpse of the hotel which looked just like a pictoral representation of a house from the english era with creepers covering much of the hotel exterior. we were greeted by the hotel manager who helped us settle down in our rooms on the 1st floor. the entire hotel had wooden flooring, quality of which was poor. the hotel has around 6 rooms, they have a fire place in each room, a recreation room on the first floor, a dining area on the ground floor, a kitchen in a separate building in the backyard, a very well maintained garden in the front with tables overlooking the valley. the hotel has a large orchard of apples and a variety of fruits, though one of glitches was poor cellular network, also the satellite tv connection was poor. hotel staff were very impressive though only around 5 in number. the manager in particular made every effort to make us comfortable. food was freshly prepared according to the guest's preferences. view of sunset and sunrise from the hotel is breathtaking.
me and my friend went to ramgarh from nainital in a cab and it took us a little time to locate this hotel, it is right next to the factory of mother dairy where in they produce all fresh fruit jams and stuff its a small hotel and has only 6 rooms in all, and when i went there we were the only ones staying at this hotel, as the winters were fast approaching and there was not much staff at the hotel, so we had the luxury of exploring the old heritage styled property owned by the kings of pilibhit [in India]. the meals were prepared according to our wishes so we were very happy and satisfied with the meals and the services that were provided to us. just behind the hotel was a 365 acre fruit and vegetable plantation owned by the owners of the hotel and were were given a guided tour of the same as right next to it was the main jungle full of wild animals, it was not the season for fruits otherwise we would have got something to eat from the plantation as well the room we had was a huge room and a big attached bathroom, but there was no TV in the room or the hotel we were told by the cooks that there have been incidents of wild animals coming to the front porch of the hotel once in a year or two, so we were extra cautious before leaving our rooms do stay there when you go in big groups
