The hotel is 11 kms ahead of Ranikhet on the Ranikhet Kausani road. It is far from the city and no crowds (or shops) are nearby. It is right on the road, but has a great view of the snow capped mountains right from the rooms. A small climb up the hill behind the hotel will give better, unobstructed views. The hotel has no private parking and the vehicles have to be parked in front of the hotel. However, considering the location of the hotel, it is good to take one's own vehicle. Rooms have nice wooden flooring, satellite television, big windows and a balcony with nice views. The beds could have been better though. The bathroom is spacious and clean, though (as in most places in the hills), the flow of water from the taps, and especially the shower is weak. The bathrooms have geysers installed for hot water. Take your own toileteries and towels though. The towels were not in great shape. The care taker and cook will cook up simple tasty food, but don't expect a gourmet meal. Some rations need to be purchased from Ranikhet (like chicken, mutton etc), so ensure you inform the staff beforehand to enable them to get the items from Ranikhet. If you are not looking for a luxurious holiday and really want some peace and quiet in the hills, this can be a choice One thing I did not like about the place: When we reached the hotel, I noticed a clothes line near our rooms which the staff probably use for drying their clothes. Some clothes were lying on the ground there. On telling the staff, these clothes were promptly removed, though, and did not reappear during our stay.

Hotel is located in good area but the market and the city is around 7kms from the hotel. The rooms are good and the services are also good, but I am very happy with the dining options. The hotel is also very clean and the staffs are very cooperative. Yes I will suggest this hotel to my family.

A holiday not so great. A holiday not so great.

by Yaj100 on June 23, 2012

We were a group of 11 adults and 4 kids. Went there in june 2012. I guess this is a mid season destination and not a summer destination. It's not Ranikhet BU a good 8-10 ams away. Second, it's almost half the height of Ranikhet at about 900 meters above Sea level. Hence it was pretty Hot in the afternoons. In fact it was so hot that we taking showers 3-4 times day to us cool. The rooms like most hill stations only had a Fan, which too rotated at such a speed that you could count the wings, thanks to the low voltage supply. Power cuts were regular, and the gen-sets would only come up, when you prodded the staff. The staff is limited, but ok. Food is ok. We decided to cut short our vacation and came back earlier.

Great Experience Great Experience

I visited Ranikhet with a group of 8 friends, having both boys and girls. Specifying this specifically as everybody likes this place. You can not expect high-fi facilities here as its a basic accommodation but the staff is quiet co-operative and ready to serve you anything in their reach. Food was really great, we were the only group staying there at that time so they ask us about our menu at least one meal in advance as they have to buy fresh stuff from the market. Great weather, calm place, great view of Himalaya.

If you want to wake up in the mornings, and watch the himalayas from the balcony of your room, with a cup of coffee in you hand, you can head here. This is more like a homestay than a full fledged hotel. The caretake, cleaning staff and cook take care of this place. It's not a plush property, but is relatively neat and clean. It's located 11 km ahead of Ranikhet on the road to Kausani, and so, there are not too many people or shops nearby. Food needs to be ordered beforehand so that any groceries that may not be available in house can be brought from Ranikhet. So, if you fancy that steaming bowl of chicken curry with some pearl white steamed rice, let the staff know well in advance. The property does not have many rooms, and that adds to the fact that you can relax with a book in hand without being disturbed frequently. However, as it is band on the highway, you do get the noise of the traffic...which is bearable. There's not much to do here other than relax in the lap of nature. And considering that it's not very expensive, if you ever feel like running away from the city life for a week or two, you can do so without breaking the bank....

Demo Trip No swimming pool, pls ignore that rating. Don't take the top mos rooms, they are hotter than the others, plus the extra climb.
