We stayed in Vimoksha Resort during our trip around Xmas for 2 days. We were three families travelling together we're allotted one three bhk cottage. Two rooms of the cottage was very good, but one of the room was incomplete, and there were no geyser and basic amenities were missing. The food served on the first day was very average in taste, but next day after giving feedback, the food turned out quite testy. The location is in majhkhali, almost 12 Kms from the centre of the Ranikhet. We went for a walk on one of the day, but this place is good, if you are traveling in group, otherwise there is nothing to do.
The best feature of this resort is that you get what you see. Pros : The resort is neat and clean and the staff very helpful. Food is cooked fresh on demand. Though we had informed them we won't be eating dinner on arrival, they hustled up a quick hot meal for us as we got delayed enroute. The view of the valley and the mountain range is spectacular. The serenity of the surroundings is indeed soul lifting. Cons : It is not very well equipped for winters. The rooms are freezing cold and though there are heaters in the bedrooms, we had to repeatedly ask for one in the drawing area. Even though we had requested the staff to switch on the heaters and geysers, they hadn't and we had a very uncomfortable first night as there was no electricity.
Overall place was good. I would say above average.... Food was better then what I can expect in uttranchal. Cottages were clean n nice .... There remember there was kitchen in the cottage which I have booked but there was nothing kept .... Like cooking pots or glass ... U know what stuffs r kept in the kitchen ... It would have been nice if they could some basic things in the kitchen ...
Whether one is looking for a quite holiday with family or a close business get together , this resort in Majhkali off Ranikhet, is a perfect destination. Spread over sieves acres of unblemished hills, the resort has self sufficient cottages that is difficult to find elsewhere. Morning coffee sitting in the veranda overlooking the Himalayas is an out of this world experience . One would like a have better Wifi connectivity and a small club room with facility to play badminton, table tennis and billiards, just as a break for people staying longer than 2-3 days.
It is almost 10 hours drive to Vimoksha resort from Delhi, it gets tiring after such a long drive but the time you reach this place all your tiredness goes away with such fresh air, amazing landscape views around. Cottages are well maintained, the look and feel is almost the same as if you are at home that makes you feel more comfortable, services are Really good. Wake up early in the morning and feel the freshness of the surrounding that you miss in Delhi. This is the best place if you want to spend sometime of your own or with your family, also a good place for corporate outings. If you guys plan out for Jim Corbett try to add few more days to stay at this place, Generally people Club Nanital with Jim Corbett, but i would suggest Clubbing Vimoksha Resort Ranikhet because Nanital is getting over crowded you will miss the feeling being on Hills. I will definitely come back soon and spend few more days from my past stay.
