I highly recommend the place, if you are in Ranthambore this is the only place to be in. Owner & his family are very friendly.

Good points are that the hotel is close to the national park and the rooms are good. Bad points are the management is opportunistic and dull. There are no activities where so many could be possible like folk music sessions, child friendly activities. They were charging twice as much for a national park trip whereas they're much closer and they're also a bit too biased in favor of Britishers and Americans, hence food etc everything was as per their taste. Basically they're running it in a way that it is low maintenance, but I think other resorts are much better with cheaper costs. The one I noticed with a lot of buzz was tiger den a stone's throw away and we were repenting why we didn't book it since it was cheaper and available as well. and by the way, there is no room service which is ridiculous.

DON'T STAY HERE !! DON'T STAY HERE !!

by Robert C on January 12, 2017

We spent two nights here mid January and wished we hadn't. Staff is friendly, but the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Rooms were not clean, food was inconsistent and as a friendly reminder two days later we experienced severe illness from our food intake. Overall, Ranthambore is a dump, and Dev Vilas fits into this category. If you are coming to see tigers, go elsewhere.

Dissapointing Dissapointing

by rogerlingley on January 11, 2017

Not sure of rating but I would say 2-3 star. In peak season out of around 40 rooms only 4 was occupied. Very tired place to stay and needs a major overhaul. Service was good and the added extra hot water bottles in bed whist we were at dinner was special. But as there was no heating in 4degree temperatures we needed them as the little fan heater did absolutely nothing to keep the room warm. As was full board there was limited choice of food, but they tried their best with limited resources. Personally I would try another hotel with a little more added luxury. Sorry Dev.....

Where are the tigers?! Where are the tigers?!

by tvlgypsy on January 8, 2017

We only had time to stay one night here but loved it. When we arrived we immediately had a quick delicious lunch then left for our afternoon safari. Unfortunately we did not see a tiger that evening but did see a lot of other animals. When we returned dinner was ready (meals are included here). It was served to us (no buffet here) and was wonderful. Our rooms were very large and comfortable. We had two bathrooms; one with a toilet and sink and the other was a full bathroom with tub and shower. The beds were quite comfortable. Next morning we were up with the sun to find that elusive tiger (yes we did!) and returned to another delicious meal - breakfast. The staff was very attentive, the grounds spotless and we enjoyed our visit very much. Wished we had had more time there. There were tented type rooms there as well but we didn't have the time to see them. The pool was large and very clean.

Food could have been better Food could have been better

by marinsul on January 2, 2017

We just checked out of this hotel after staying here for 2 nights. When reading the reviews, we were a bit skeptical because there are quite a number of not so great ones however we gave it a try. The stay turned out to be pleasant. The room is big with a big bathroom (a shower and a bath) and a separate washroom so we didn't have to take turn to do our business. The service is good, they really try their best to be accommodating. The food could have been better than what it is, nothing is great but nothing is too bad. However, their lamb and chicken kebabs specially made for the new year's eve dinner were excellent. I don't normally eat lamb but I enjoyed their lamb kebab very much. As one of the reviews mentioned the wifi isn't great, that is true. But 3G on my phone works well, better than most places in Rajasthan. All in all, the hotel has exceeded our expectation. And they have a very cute, beautiful great dane, that is very friendly and cuddly.

We went for dinner to Dev Villas , it's a beautiful property done very well by Mr Balendu Singh and his wife . We couldn't get reservations in this property as it was booked . Mr Singh has a wide knowledge about the forest and animals .He is a wild life enthusiast and his knowledge about Ranthambore tigers is legendary. He and his wife are warm and personally take interest in guests need . It was a wonderful visit to Dev Vilas and next time we will definitely stay at Dev Villas .

Demo Trip Tents if you want something different. Rooms were incredible though and quiet everywhere so that isn't an issue.

by famadven on June 16, 2016

Demo Trip Though all rooms are spacious, if travelling in a family, ask for the rooms with the double Queen Beds.
