Old friends gettogether Old friends gettogether

by sohini2012 on February 16, 2017

We were a group of friends meeting after two years and stayed at TRB for 3 nights and 3 days. The hotel captures the feel of a resort set near a national tiger reserve correctly. The property is dotted with quaint touches, from the baskets used as lampshades to the dinner served outdoors. We stayed at the tents which were very comfortable - each with its own seat-out and ensuite toilet. Hot water was a little iffy but that was soon taken care of. The host Poonam Singh is gracious and attentive to all guests and the service is exemplary- the people waiting on you fills you with food till you can't eat any more. The food had the flavour of home cooked recipes - the meat and chicken well cooked and soft, the rotis soft and vegetables fresh. Some of the veggies were from their garden I believe. The safaris were well organised by the hotel with knowledgeable guides. The hotel also has organised a trip to the Ranthambore Fort and the Dastkar Kendra. We had a lovely trip.

My 3rd visit in the last 15 years. What makes the bagh are the friendly and helpful staff and the interaction of the owners to make it feel like your visiting family. Thanks Dickie and Poonam for making our stay so memorable.

Smooth checkin & checkout. Quite clean and well-maintained tents & garden. Delicious spread for lunch & dinner (especially the naans) Great bonding & interacting with other guests around the evening bonfire. Hassle-free and efficient safari arrangements. Courteous, friendly & helpful staff (special thanks to Ram Singh) The hot water bottles & heaters made the chilly nights comfortable. Gained knowledge about wildlife from Mr. Aditya's interesting tales. The owners, Poonam & Aditya, made our stay excellent with their warmth & hospitality.Could'nt have asked for more. Thank you for the tasty lunch you packed for our return journey .It was very thoughtful.

Went to this place with minimum expectation of good service and good place to stay with family ...Food and location is good while basic service and lot of follow ups on the staff for getting the things fixed up both in rooms And tents ... high noise during night hours due to road traffic will make your stay in tents uncomfortable... overall got to know that owners stay in the same property but they did not have time to reach out to customers and take the feedback in terms of make guest stay comfortable.. Felt there are better options to stay in Ranthambhore ...

Chasing Tigers in Ranthambhore Chasing Tigers in Ranthambhore

by Craig C on January 27, 2017

There are over 40 hotels in Ranthambore and I'm sure all would offer tiger safari tours etc so when picking a hotel I think the are a few things that set Ranthambore Bagh apart. Firstly and most importantly how many of the owners of the 40 plus hotels are passionate about tiger conservation and actively promote an understanding and awareness of the plight of these and other species. If I am putting my money into some bodies else's pocket then I would like to think I am supporting that person in pursuing a cause that I also care about. Aditya Singh, the owner of Ranthambore Bagh meets that criteria. Check out the website, and his blogs, Facebook etc. Now if you are going to Ranthambore to see tigers then presumably you care and appreciate these animals, so don't go to a hotel that isn't actively involved in the conservation of tigers., check their websites and ask them directly. Secondly the level of service at this hotel is exceptional. I have stayed in homestays, backpackers and every sort of hotel and I think the staff here are among best I have come across. For example, Ramsingh, he memorised my name at check in and for the week I was there he greeted me by my name, now I have been at backpackers where I have been the only guest and they still would bother to learn my name and at 5 star hotels they would be lucky to even know if I was a guest. Staff here took the time to learn food and drink preferences so my coffee was made as I like it with out me having to ask for. The attention to detail and the individual nature of service really made this place feel like a home away from home. Even the owner Aditya, who has a wonderful knowledge of the national park comes out in the evening to sit around the fire and talk to guests. He must have the same sort of conversations every night but his engagement with guests showed no signs of flagging enthusiasm. Thirdly the building and grounds have a lovely homely feel about them. It has a library were books can be burrowed and a beautiful garden to sit and read in while you are in between tiger safaris. At night a nature film is often shown and the public spaces are littered with Aditya's wildlife photographs which I spent considerable time looking at over the course of my stay. The food is of a good standard and buffet affairs with a variety of 6 dishes but if you are going in winter be warned apart from the guest rooms the building itself isn't heated and dinner usually requires eating your meal on your lap while sitting around a communal fire place in the garden. I was a bit taken back at first but soon appreciated what a great social space it became. I was in room 103, two single beds pushed together in a plain room lacking any of the great artwork around the public areas. It really was a contrast to the rest of the place. The bathroom was similarly a fairly basic affair. My room 103 could have been called the snow leopard room instead and filled with Aditya's many snow leopard images it would of helped keep the room in a way that complemented the rest of the building. The only functional negative for me as the hot water supply. If you use the hot water carefully there is enough to shower, and wash your hair but after 8 to 10 minutes it has run out. So if you are looking for a long hot shower after a big day on safari then you are going to be disappointed. All tours can be organised through the accommodation and in the mornings there is coffee and blankets at the ready prior to departure.

Demo Trip try as far away as possible from the street. We had a quiet room going towards the back and could not hear the street noise.
