Stayed for less than 8 hours. Managed to get a reduced rate. DId not find any issues with the hotel. Got hot water in the morning. Did not try food in the restaurant. Parking was available. If you are just passing by and need a place to crash, then its ok
Please avoid this place at any cost.Everything was below average and totally a waste of money.Rooms and washrooms were small and dirty.Service was below par and can be improved.Do not pay more than 1000 for these rooms.
truly a hight of terrible, dont know how to talk with guest , you will be welcome with vulgar & abusing language. cheat the people , all the dirty things happens there, in front of room u will get smell of toilet. food is worst , u will definitely vomate. bed are not good , and cleaned
Almost no service given . Breakfast has no option . Hot water for only 1 hrs in morning . Place is very darkly lit up . Actually nothing much to write about the place . Food was also not at all great tasting . Half the items on menu were nit avilable at all .
Been to this hotel very recently. Location-wise it is perfectly located. Bang in the middle of the Ratnagiri. Everything is at walkable distance. Most of the landmarks of the city, like Thibaw palace, Birthplace of Lokmanya Tilak is in a range of 1-2 Kms. from the hotel. The Bhatye beach is also about 5-10 minutes distance by road. From accessibility point of view, the owners couldn't have found a better place.
Finding the hotel is also not very difficult. You drive down the main road, till you reach 'JayStambh', everybody in Ratnagiri should be able to direct you towards Jaystambh. It's just around the corner from Jaystambh.
If you are driving in your own car, no worries about parking space. Lot of parking for your vehicle. And the parking area is also easily accessible.
I saw an earlier review, which said the hotel was dirty, hence was a little apprehensive about the hygiene, but the hotel is clean. Let me rephrase that, the hotel is very clean, during my three days of stay, I did not find even one instance of a fly landing anywhere close to me. It is a credit to the management to ensure that not only the rooms, even the common area, the restaurant etc. are absolutely clean.
The management, and the help are very courteous and helpful. Only catch, you need to approach them for help. Not very proactive in terms of helping out, but I have nothing against it. It's just an observation and a hint, if you need help please go up and talk to the people at reception, they will help you out. They will just not offer it on their own.
All these are good and plus points, now few observations where the hotel can improve.
1. The rooms are a bit strange; We had opted for a standard room. Please do not book a standard room if you value space. The rooms are small. On the plus side, the management immediately upgraded us to another, bigger room upon request. Full marks there. The strange: The room that we finally stayed in had a window opening in the stairwell, not a good idea for me.
2. The food is so-so. Too much spice and oil. It is easily rectifiable and I hope the hotel would take a look at it.
3. The beds and pillows are a little too hard, it makes sleeping at night a bit of a problem.
Overall, I found the hotel to be a perfect example of a place poised exactly at average, it could be better or it could be worse. There is definitely a possibility for improvement, but there are some great points as well, as mentioned earlier. Ideally I would have liked to give a 2.5 star, but as it is not possible, I am adding another half star for the extremely courteous and helpful people managing the place.
Would I recommend it?: If you are on a small duration stay and on budget, definitely look it up, but for a longer duration I think you might struggle. I have a request for the management, if at all they look up this review, please take a look at the food and the rooms. Currently, that is what is holding you back in my opinion. The place could become a good one considering it's location and the people managing it.
You would do well to talk to the Hotel directly, instead of going through any third party online booking sites, you will thank me later.
