I travelled with my didi and her 10 year old son . I booked Atali spoke to Shivani was very prompt in confirming the reservation and answering to all our queries. We started from delhi around 6 am reached Atali by 12:30 pm. We were delighted to see the property and got a warm welcome by Shivani & Manoj . We got lovely welcome drink was introduced to Ravi who took care of our check in and explaining everything about the activities and Atali . The 1 bedroom cottage was amazing with nice ambience and spacious washroom. The balcony was nice As we were very hungry we went to white water cafe for lunch was indeed too good and we enjoyed our lunch thoroughly . We went for kayaking sharp at 3 pm whuch was very well organised was just 5 mins drive from the hotel . Ravi was our kayaking guide and after that had piping hot tea with cookies right on the river bed . The bonfire was nice kept us warm with most tempting snacks veg & non veg both . The buffet dinner was too good again . The sleep was very comfortable woke up around 8 am . We got a reminder call at 8:15 for river rafting so had quick breakfast . The river rafting was for 24 kms with superb guide Sanjay & Sandeep who explained every thing properly and made us very comfortable I have done rafting earlier as well but this was the very best and not even once we got scared . We were given hot piping tea after the rafting and followed by lunch at Atali . We enjoyed lunch were at the resort after that enjoyed the bonfire and dinner . The day we were suppose to check out after breakfast we went for giant swing and ladder we enjoyed it the most followed with wall climbing as well . This is ultimate place to stay for vacation and has the best team have ever met as am avid traveller . I thank Manoj & Shivani who have worked In Oberois for making our stay very comfortable and most memorable one. All the best
Visited Atali with the wife and kids last weekend We were looking forward to the trip having heard so much about Atali and after encouraging reviews on TripAdvisor Now, Atali is not an inexpensive destination. We were paying close to 40000 rupees per night for the 2 nights at Atali To start with, the reception at arrival was tired and luke warm. We were taken to our cottages to discover that our bags had already been placed in a 2 bedroom cottage with no connecting doors inspite of a specific request at the time of booking. The room was bare, no carpeting,a small heater to warm a freezing room, no toiletries and certainly not upto the price charged. Meals were served in the cafe . Basic home food with a single non vegetarian option. Breakfast was a struggle with the chef simply unable to follow instructions to make an omelette desired When we requested that the free snacks be served by the television at the reception as my son was watching a soccer game we were informed that the free snacks could only be served at the restaurant though our paid order was readily delivered to us ! The rooms were clean though, the food ok even if the choice was limited, the service good generally. So , in balance, the place was unremarkable. They did nothing too bad but nothing exceptional either ...Not bad but far from brilliant. For the price though completely not worth the money charged.
This was hands down the best resort I've stayed in in India. From the service to the food, everything is amazing. The best thing is you are completely connected with nature as there is no TV in the room. You must try the 'Ultimate Atali Experience' if you are interested in mountain biking, hiking and rafting. Also the resort is very eco-friendly!
I and my wife have been moving towards adopting a healthier lifestyle and towards it wanted to celebrate New Year of 2017 in a better way. therefore instead of partying on New Years eve we were planning to enjoy differently this year. So my search for an outing began nearly two weeks for a nice getaway during New Year . Our main criteria were nice and clean resort, good range of activities , within 5 to 7 hrs driving distance of Delhi and good reviews . After looking at multiple options in Punjab, Himachal , Rajasthan and Uttaranchal I finally hit upon ATALI Ganga through Trip Advisor . It had top ratings on Trip Advisor and is promoted as a Activotel or Activity Hotel. ATALI is set up by Aquaterra Adventures which is a premier Adventure company based in Delhi and organise a large range of activities. Their website was nice and I immediately checked up availability which was not there for 31st as expected. Fortunately we got availablity for a 2 nights from 01st to 03rd Jan 2017 in a all inclusive package for me , my wife and our 11 yr old son. My email for booking was responded by Shivani who manages the resort along with her husband Manoj. We were given a package which included all meals and two activities daily. Shivani also shared her Whatsapp mobile no and was really prompt in answering all my queries on Whatsapp. We drove down from Gurgaon and took almost 8 hours to reach the place at 2 pm. The journey from Gurgaon to Rishikesh was fine for most of the route expect for places where construction is taking place leading to traffic jams. There was also a lot of rush while crossing Rishikesh due to the New Year. Atali is another 30 km ahead of Rishikesh so factor in another 45 mins of travel later you reach Rishikesh. The first look of the resort really appealed to us when we entered the gate. It has a beautiful constructed facade with a stone look of the main resort lobby and 20 odd cottages constructed along the hill. We were welcomed with watermelon juice and a short brief of the resort and activities by Jai.As kayaking was scheduled for 3.30 pm we rushed for lunch in the White Water Cafe which has a wonderful setting. We ate a hearty meal enjoying the sun and fresh air. Lunch was a nutritious and decent spread with various options. For Kayaking we were taken to the nearby river bed which had a nice sandy beach. The place was serene and beautiful and the resort had also arranged for tea and biscuits. As there was a large group that day we had to wait a lot for our turn. The Kayaking experience was a short 5-10 min guided affair. It was very short introduction to Kayaking nice for photo ops but not for the experience. But we loved the place and had a really good time sitting near the river and enjoying the fresh air and clean and beautiful surroundings. In the evening at 5.30 Wall Climbing was organised for kids which my son picked up quite well. The staff getting the training done were very helpful and supportive and handled kids well. The resort organises bonfires every day at 7 pm with soft drinks and snacks. This is done in the deck in front of White Water Cafe and is a wonderful way of enjoying the place. The snacks and the ensuing buffet dinner was really appetising and we really enjoyed the food. The second day started at 9.30 am with the first major activity, Rafting. This was done over 3 hours on a 24 km stretch of Ganges. The experience was a really thrilling one with number of rapids all along the route adding to the excitement. There were opportunities to take a dip in the cold waters of Ganges which the brave among us took. The staff was well trained and took all the safety precautions to ensure we had a safe yet thrilling experience. We were lucky that it was a sunny day as the water was quite cold. The best time for rafting is definitely Sep to Oct when the water level is high and it is not yet very cold. We finished around 1 pm and then drove back to Atali for our lunch. After lunch I and my wife opted to go for a small hike in the hills behind the resort. It was a short hike along a trail behind the resort culminating in the village Byasi. We were able to spot Langurs , peacocks and various birds during the short walk. Our Discovery of the hike was "Rati" the old age weight of measurement used in historical times to measure gold. Ratis are small seeds growing wild all of which have the same weight. It has a old saying attached to it - "Rati bar Sona " After our hike we enjoyed the nice deck outside the resort's cafe with a bonfire and Sigdis to warm us in the cold yet refreshingly pleasant weather of Rishikesh. We slept early after yet another delicious meal. We woke up late at 8 pm for our final few hours before we checked out. Surprisingly the staff had organised another activity, giant Ladder and giant Swing for us. As we had breakfast my son attempted the Giant Ladder with the support and guidance of their excellent staff, Bikash Rana and Jai. The giant Swing is also quite thrilling and is a must do. My son really enjoyed the resort and enthusiastically participated in all the activities. It is an excellent place for all those looking for an active vacation with young kids as the staff are very well trained and motivated. However the beauty of the place and the hospitable staff make it pleasurable for anyone to stay at this resort. I would surely come here again and break my rule of never repeating a resort on a vacation. The biggest USP of the place is the motivated staff who run the place as if they are an integral part of the resort. Additionally there are a large range of activities - Wall Climbing, Rafting , Kayaking , Cycling Hiking , Giant Ladder and Swing and the High Ropes course. An ideal stay would be of 4 days and 3 nights wherein you would enjoy all the activities they have to offer and also relax and soak in the fresh air of the hills. Pros - Warm and hospitable staff , Delicious food , Numerous activities , Lovely surroundings Must do - Rafting and Evening Bonfire
