Great camp. Humble staff. Great camp. Humble staff.

by Ashit C on January 3, 2017

The camp is extremely neat and clean and has an amazing location. It's not on the beach but on the hillside. A short hike of 250metres from the main road will take you to this beautiful camp. We requested for pool facing tent and it was really nice. Good sound system has been installed in the camp for you to dance and party. The staff is humble and helpful. The chicken was yum.

In Rishikesh it has been my third visit, this time it was with Family and Friends. Apparently I was worried and have been talking with travel agent to make proper arrangement, however to the surprise when we entered in the camp it was very dirty, dirty here means bed cover, pillow cover looks never washed, room was full of dust, insects, ant, lizard was all over place. We were driving all over from Jaipur overnite around 600kms so we needed a place to lie down as we reach, to a surprise camp is located around 300 metres on mountain with steep elevation, I am bit fit so it was nice trekking experience however it was tiring, however we had family with us, 2 small kids luggage so it become more like a beating to us. Ok so we reached above location was good and nice mountain view, but when we entered in room it was more like a nightmare, very dirty rooms, with very small fan hanging on top. We asked to change tents, which was refused as it was completely packed. Now, comes role of staff, they were really very cooperative and helpful, they cleaned all 5 tents in 30 mins and made us a place where we can stay. As it was very humid, atleast they should have a ceiling fan, it was so hot that u cant stay in tent, luckily we have rafting to do so we left camp around 4. Good rafting session and we were back around 7. Now we had few other family as well, before that it was all guys who were doing all nuisance. Pool was being enjoyed by families which was good. Table was set for us for snacks and food was super awesome. I always wondered these camps how can they prepare so nice food, they easily can beat any 5 star chef. Lunch, dinner, snacks, breakfast was super awesome and very yum. My take with the camp was: Bit far from shivpuri, but roads are good and if u love driving u will enjoy. You have to be fit to trek up to the camp. Make sure to get camp cleaned nicely. I am giving 3 stars for Location, Staff and Food.

Basic, as camps should be Basic, as camps should be

OK, first things first...it's a camp, so minimal is what you should expect. And they deliver. So when I say very good, I mean that they did deliver the experience I expected from a camp. Rustic. Location is good because it's quite further inside from Shivpuri, quiet and peaceful. However, if you are physically not so fit or have young children of elderly with you, you might want to reconsider, because you have to park on the main road and have a very steep climb up to the camp. And considering you do that at least 3-4 times a day, it can be quite exhausting. I liked that because it was a good workout :) The view is all mountains and you have to come to the pool side to look at the river below. Disappointed there. And the time of the year you travel makes a lot of difference. It wasn't green in April (but the reason for that, we were told, was that they barely had any rains last year) And there was a forest fire (was still on when we were there!) The tents were fairly spacious, but there was no power during the day. And it was sweltering hot and we could not do anything in the camp. And the tents were like ovens during the day and there was no power so was stifling. So pick your time of travel carefully. In the nights they provided power thru generator. But it becomes pleasant after sunset. Also, because these are tents voice travels... It's a limited service setup, so they can't offer ala carte and the dinners are served at 9.30 PM but they graciously accommodated by providing dal chawal for our 8 year olds at 8.00 PM The food was simple but definitely good. The pool was a little disappointing,it had moss growing on the sides, and it was a little icky to me. Shared washrooms, adequate, could clean more often considering it sees a lot of traffic. They package also included rappelling, rafting and trekking. But they didn't take us trekking and we forgot to ask :( Will I go there, yes. When I want to have that kind of a holiday. Sometimes, I just want to sit and sip my drink and watch plants grow.

Nice Place To Stay Nice Place To Stay

The location is cool, the staff was great.Rooms were clean and well furnished. Enjoyed our stay at the camps. With a lot of people offering camps , it becomes difficult to choose one, don't think too much go for this one. Thanks!

Staff very cooperative , up hill trek of 8-10 mins tiring Staff very cooperative , up hill trek of 8-10 mins tiring

Its located around 35 kilometers up of rishikesh town which is a beautiful drive all the way and once you reach there it gives you the proper feel of a camp sight straight from the up hill trek you have to do which is tiring for people if you are not found of trekking and restricts people to walk down and out of camp random at night as it gets pitch dark and risky . The tents are basic ones which have one charging point with one bulb for light at night , No Fan or cooler is a major flip point as it got really very hot during day because it has direct sunlight on your tent . The evenings are very pretty with a amazing skyline and clear night sky . The toilets are common and average which is a adventure in itself if you like it that way . I enjoyed it but my friends had issues with it so if toilet is a big issue for you then think about it . We had a pool facing tent which is the best location for the place with uninterrupted view of the mountains and pool area . Attached is a farm where you will see farmers the whole day and is a different experience . The staff is just amazing as they do there best to make you comfortable during your stay . The food is basic home cooked but delicious . AT night they arrange for a speaker on which people can randomly play music or you can get your own music dock to play for self and enjoy at night . They provide starters at night too but have time restrictions so you should carry your own stuff along . In all if you are looking for a good camping experience with less luxury then feel factor is a good choice . But if you want to spend more time in the tents and resort and want to go and explore the nearby area anytime you want then its not the place for you .
