Take a top floor apartment for a nice view of the mountains, but you won't see the ganges from here, it's a 30 minute walk away though you can see it shining from nearby. Caveat emperor... the power trips regularly and the bath water when released rushes out of the plug hole and floods the large western style bathroom. I saw a menu lying on a table at reception but had no offers of food or any other service however there are loads of restaurants in the area serving sub quality food. Avoid the nearby bistro nirvana which served me a rotten mango lassi that left me ill for days. I was sick nearly constantly in Rishikesh. Wireless is stable, if annoying. You need to reconnect regularly and can connect two devices maximum. Hammocks can be found outside some of the rooms, which is a nice touch. Prices were around 950 rupees a room, but they do occasional special rates. They will also store your bags. There is a little library and filtered water service at reception which I appreciated.
Don't waste your money =- go to one of the other lodgings near Nirvanna Cafe. This was well overpriced for what was grubby and not looked after rooms. Although large - the furniture in there was unneccissary and the Air Conditioning had a funky smell. the small balcony overlooked the hillside but there were builders underneath so not exactly serene. We stayed 4 nights and the room or bathroom was not cleaned once. It felt like student accommodation with bugs in places. There was no shower curtain for the bath so water went everywhere. I also found the management staff were a little bit odd and knocked on our door at random times.. they did not seem concerned with any of our concerns. Go elsewhere
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and we enjoyed our stay here. For budget accomodation, it certainly was head above others we've been to before. The staff were helpful and the restaurant just below, was excellent. We dined there just about every night! The location is really great, because you feel secluded from the hustle and bustle of Rishikesh...the only one disappointing thing was the shower. It didn't really have adequate pressure and was more like running drip. But for the price, if you're happy to put up with it, it's definitely worth it.
Located in a small street in Rishikesh , it's away from the noise of the main city and in a secluded area. We got a lovely two bedroom cottage with attached rooms and an outside veranda. One of the best places at this price and even otherwise . Comfortable.
A little out the way from the centre so good to hire a scooter otherwise lots of tuk tuks or long walk uphill but good exercise! Room was really big and had a balcony overlooking the himalayas so it was really magical, but was a little basic and main shower did not work so had to hold hand held shower head up. Part of a little village so everything you need is around. Really good healthy food at oasis cafe. Staff were friendly and helpful travel agent.
