I had a nice experience, room were spacious staff are friendly and helpful. They prepare for me baby food too. Am very much happy about that. They take care of my 10months old baby too. I ordered soup in the evening its not much good. Need to improve soup

This Hotel has a very pathetic service.This is not a 3 star hotel, rather a 1 star lodge.Rooms are nothing like pictures shown on their website.Its an old hotel that stinks. Pictures shown are either photoshopped or when it was new I stayed in Hotel for two nights, on 13th and 14th August 2016 in Executive Room. I checked in at 7 PM on 13th Aug 2016.I had told them about my arrival time on 12th itself and asked them to keep my room ready. However when I checked in Day 1 : 13th Aug 2016 a) There was only one towel in the room though it was for double occupany.I had to call up desk thrice and I got the second towel/toliletries after 1 hour. b) AC was not working.I called up the desk 4-5 times, however AC was never fixed that night.We had to sleep without AC and it was quite hot in Salem.(though I had paid in full in advance) C) There is no hot water in the bathroom.We had to take bath with cold water the first day.As the AC was not working and it was hot in salem, we didnt mind. d) Bathroom was stinking and dirty. I immediately sent them an email with photo proofs but I never got a reply. Day 2 : 14th Aug 2016. I spoke to the people at desk personally in the morning and told that when I return to the room that evening, all the issues should be fixed and I shouldnt have to call up the desk.I was told either the issues will be fixed or I will get a different room. When I returned back: a) I got a different room and luckily AC was working in this roomf b) towels/toiletries/water bottle(all part of executive room) were missing on second day too.I had to call up desk twice to get them. c) There was still no hot water in the bathroom.Bathroom was stinking and was dirty.See attached photos. Day 3: 15th Aug 2016. There was still no hot water in the bathroom.When I called up the desk,electrician visited us.He told us that they switch off the heater frequently and switch it on only when someone complains.They claim they have 24 hr running hot water.Even after he switched on the heater, I could only get luke warm water.Because it was hot in Salem,I didnt complain further. Overall pathetic service. Cons: a) Pathetic service. b) None of the hotel staff speaks English.(except one lady) c) The room keys do not work properly.You will spend 5 minutes every time you want to unlock. d) You have to call the desk repeatedly even for basic requirements like towel/toiletries/water bottle/hot water and there is no guarantee that it will get fixed. d) They have very limited basement parking.If its full they park it outside the hotel.This is a serious security risk.What if your car gets stolen? e) Dirty bathrooms.Rooms are just ok and not well maintained.See photos. f) Stinking elevators. Pros: a) The south indian buffet breakfast is very tasty though the menu repeats every day. b) room boys and restaurant staff is friendly( though they cant speak english)

Located about half a km from Bus stand. Rooms are spacious and luxurious/clean. Like those sofa-chairs in the room. Staff are polite. They have a restaurant in-hotel. Also a bar. Buffet breakfast is good, can be more spread and look more appealing.Suggest to keep a toaster. Suggest also to drop in a newspaper in rooms. Landscape in reception area is good. Come out of hotel and we can do lot of shopping.

AMR Evergreen Hotel is located near the commercial area of Four Roads, half way between New Bus Stand and old Bus Stand. It is located in a complex where ground floor is occupied by Jewellers in front and a liquor bar in the back. The hotel has its Reception and Restaurant in basement (-1 level) adjascent to a car park. The room is spacious and luxurious, but poor in ambience. It seems they have spent a lot on room but did not took service of a good interior designer. For eg., you find mismatch in colours used. And you can find an out-dated stopper adjascent to hi-tech door lock. Staff is well dressed and polite, but has no motivation to help. I found a customer in the restaurant shouting on the waiter for giving coffee very less in quantity during the buffet breakfast. And the waiter was scolding him back in Tamil saying don't shout! The staff person in-charge of buffet breakfast was talking leisurely to the cashier when I entred for buffet breakfast. I found that except Idli, everything was cold, not even warm. I noticed that the flame to keep vessels hot were not lighted. Further, the restaurant itself has a poor ambience. But management is trying to improve things by displaying mobile number of concerned person if you have suggestions/complaints. If the staff is motivated, most of things will be solved.

I was on a private visit with my spouse for a day during April/May 2016. Right from the booking which was taken through our phone call as we were driving from Bangalore to the cleanliness of the room, room service and the complimentary breakfast were are excellent. The friendliness and readiness of the staff to assist was just wonderful. Would strongly recommend the hotel to anyone planning a stay at Salem.
