Lovely view and relaxing resort facilities.
Buffet breakfast spread amazing and comparable to European standards. Highly Recommended !
Very bump road to the resort - almost non existent and quite precarious. Reachable only by vehicle.
We were on a 14 night North East States tour and finished the rough/tough part of Arunachal first and wanted to relax the last two days before going home. Ri Kynjai was just the place for a relaxing stay. The hotel is beautifully designed and our lake facing rooms were perfect. The balcony was the place to sit with a cup of tea.
Words and photos would not do justice. Manisha at the reception was efficient and friendly and Mr. Krishna was ever ready to help and give suggestions regarding food and other things.
Only negative part is the 2-3 km strech of road from the highway to the hotel. But completely worth every Rupee.
The location is superb overlooking the lake. The accomodation and food were excellent, the staff went out of their way to look after us. It was the best plece we stayed in India in terms of ambience. Truly Serenity by the Lake.
Ri Kynjai is a stunning property on the edge of Lake Umiam. Our room was spacious and superb and the view was stupendous. We had booked one night at this resort as we wanted to get away from Bombay and enjoy the peace and quiet of this serene location.
So it was disappointing to be informed, when we checked in, that a private concert was being held on the lawns right outside the balcony of our hotel. (The stage was 20 meters from our room)
So from 4pm to 9:00 pm we were subjected to a full sound check of the band and finally their performance.
While the music itself was not bad and was not too loud, we had come there to enjoy the peace and silence and we felt let down that we were not informed about this when we made the booking. This is a premium property and definitely not cheap. Holidays are planned well in advance and we were there only for one night and to our bad luck that was the day of the performance.
With all due respect to the artists who performed (no fault of theirs) - we felt a bit cheated and though the management was apologetic, there was not much they could do as it was season time and the hotel was fully booked.
This place is a little bit away from shillong, but worth staying, lovely wooden cottages, overlooking the umaimi make, very serene, peaceful. You need to book in advance to get a booking here,it's generally very full. Rahul at the restaurant was very courteous and ensured we felt welcome and took care of us. The fish and chips, chilly pork and mutton Rogan josh was really good. We will come back here for sure
