The services were totally incompatible with the charges. Every time you have to ask for cleaning and setting of the rooms. No bedsheets/pillow covers were changed during our two nights stay. The quality of breakfast also deteriorated on second day with practically unsatisfactory even on demand. The overall services offered could have been provided by any budget hotel even at a much cheaper rate.

A brilliant homely hotel with the most friendly and accommodating staff. A gem of a hotel that I loved, and I will definitely return whether it be business or pleasure. The food and the Ambiance in this hotel was terrific - TRY IT OUT!!!!!

I will explain the curious title a bit later so that I can hope to egg you on to read more. :p I booked through make my trip; my checkin was uneventful. Uneventful is good. We got ourselves two rooms on the first floor. The rooms are tastefully done, but the showers are awesome. I love a hot shower and hate it when hotels require you to fiddle around with knobs and still you can't find the right temp for your bath. I know it's kinda a silly but sometimes a hot bath really makes your day and this one really did it. The ushers had promptly and lovingly turned on the heater cum ac for us and the rooms got quite sauna-ish (which is good). But we were in for a shock when the smart cards for our room refused to work, software issues apparently left certain room keys completely dead, which was an unfixable issue. The service team said that whenever you need to get in the room just call us. Go figure!! The manager did give us duplicates. And when I embarrssed myself by asking for our welcome drinks 3 hours after our checkin since my booking receipts clearly mentioned them; we got steaming hot cups of coffees. The reason it's the title of the review, is because the waiter literally scolded me for not asking for my welcome drink when I was checking in. I have never ever had to ask for them in all the hotels I have stayed in. So when you are here and the waiters ask you (as trained I assume), sir, chai coffee kuch lenge. Do claim yours!! And don't get reprimanded for it later. The key takeaway is, the staff in my experience was really rude and untrained, there were knocking and immediately entering the rooms without waiting for a response. So please lock up and save yourself an embarassment. Overall, really nice hotel. Don't expect views or anything out of the ordinary. Great location, great bed and a great shower. A perfect no-fuss bed and breakfast. Maybe trying hard to be upmarket but it's worth the price they are charging. If you are touring and want a comfy place to stay, give them a try.

The hotel is an average hotel which is bit away from the famous and noise police bazar, but the staffs are really very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served in the room only as they don't have buffet breakfast. Food is good but the tarrif and quality of hotel is not appropriate. Cleanness is also average.

I stayed at the Majestic Hotel with family and friends. Location was good. Rooms and bathrooms were neat & clean, well maintained and decorated. All the staff behavior and the room services were excellent. They are very helpful. Foods was yummy!!! Breakfasts were free. It's an excellent hotel to stay in Shillong. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Pros The staff and the room service. The in room breakfast. The location is ok but no great views around. It is definitely not a 3 star property. The website is deceptive in giving the real picture of the place, but it is a good and safe place to stay.
