This is my second visit to this hotel. The rooms have a perfect view which can make you day and night. You see the beautiful hills all throughout. The service is pretty good. The food that they serve is also good. I had a perfect stay at this hota.
I can say this was my best holiday in shimla (been to shimla 4-5 times).
Hotel was best in its class.
Hospitality is too good
In all a good stay includes buffet breakfast.
Thanks marina for a memorable stay.
the most amazing food ... had a brilliant meal ... great hospitality with awesome food . a huge selection and each dish superb served in a great ambience. the music in the bar was rocking . great time.
I went there with my wife & kids for a short weekend getaway . had heard about this property quite a bit. did not disappoint one bit and lived upto my expectations.
the major selling point for this particular hotel is the parking. being a regular to shimla hills, i know of the clear shortage of parking space.
staff is excellent and very courteous. food is amazing and certainly gourmet kind.
Marina - King of Hotels in Simla
Simla is known to be the queen of hills and the summer capital of the erstwhile British Raj in India. It is indeed the most happening hill station in India.
As human beings we take up many movements: inward, in deeper relationship with our true selves; outward, in loving relationship with others; and upward, in prayerful connection with the higher force. Each of these generates tension, as we move back and forth on a continuum. We do not always feel the same sense of connection to ourselves, to others or to the higher force. We all have a natural instinct towards connection, towards relationships - and we feel a lacking, a discomfort, if that need is not met. Today technological advances allow us to carry a complete entertainment system in our pocket. Modern culture has become most sophisticated in the avoidance of pain - not only our physical pain but our mental and emotional pain as well; we have become so used to this state of anesthesia, There is a place, away from hustle and bustle of the city life, where we get surcharged with fresh energy, away from any such pain, in the lap of nature; and that happens at Marina Hotel located at The Mall, Simla. The stay at Marina has always been refreshing and ecstatic. The location of the hotel is very fine and it is placed at the start of the The Mall. For those tourists who are driving up to Simla on their own vehicles Marina is the most accessible place with a huge parking space. Once I reach Marina and my vehicle reaches a safe basement parking in Marina I heave a sigh of relief, relaxation and joy.
However, while being at Marina I use silence and solitude to grow closer to myself, by paying attention to what is stirring inside the soul. We all can notice the feelings of desperation and desire that we experience at various times. Instead of trying to suppress or run from those feelings, we need to incorporate silence and solitude into our regular life. It is good to choose a time and place to get away from life as usual and spend at least 10 minutes in silence alone by choose a physical position that will enable you to stay alert yet worshipful, and say a simple prayer. Take a walk on a nature trail or sit beside Mall or at a happening spot on the Ridge - or even in backyard of the room at Marina you find moments of bliss everywhere. Even a secluded chair inside your room may work, as long as all your communication and media devices are turned off. Overcome any resistance. Do not let anything distract you. If you are anxious or afraid, admit it and ask Him to comfort you. Seek rest for the body, mind and soul. Pray for the wisdom to recognise when you have become dangerously tired exhausted by lifes demands; to the point where you cannot even hear His voice speaking to you. Take deep breaths and let peace fill your body. Let go of concerns that your mind is trying to hold onto, by opening yourself to the revelation that comes from beyond your mind which only your spirit can hear; facing yourself as you really are. Marina provides you environment for leading the blissful moments at the room or spending thrilling moments amidst the crowded Mall Road and the Ridge. The food is delightful and the catering staff is very well behaved. Room service is excellent. Kudos to Mr. Sanjay Thakur for conceiving and offering this masterpiece boutique hotel to the young enthusiasts of nature who visit Simla not for searching fun at the crowded Mall but for exploring ecstasy in the bountiful nature. Marina stands out to be the best hotel in Simla on all parameters of fun, joy, peace and comfort which are available in galore there; as a connoisseur of nature, my attraction for visiting Simla remains to be my stay at Marina Hotel which I covet and eagerly await every few months. My thanks to Mr. Sunil Chandel for looking after us so well.
My best wishes
