The Oberoi Cecil

Absolutely fabulous hotel.....very atmospheric, relaxing and authentic, certainly deserves its 5* rating. Meal times seemed a bit chaotic for staff and the service wasn't great, maybe not enough staff but they weren't very attentive. Housekeeping also could have been better. When I asked for an extra blanket and pillow they were literally dumped in a heap on my bed. Not that I can't sort it but I expected a bit more care

This is an absolute fabulous hotel. The rooms are excellent along with the staff. I used both the pool and the steam room which were very nice to relax at. The hotel is in a good location and within walking distance of Shimla centre which, is a nice city to visit.

Wow, a gem. So often heritage properties are hollow shells, Oberoi Cecil is however close to perfect. Well maintained, with simply superb staff. The people are of the highest class, professional, friendly, genuine. Was pampered with attention and all sorts of lovely, extra gestures. Cecil is worth the slog on its own.

It was a great experience staying here. Everything was taken care of very promptly and professionally. The food quality was great, and they did take special requests also. Definitely worth staying there again if you want luxury and close to the main areas. This is the only 5 star property that’s close to the Mall Rd, and fairly convenient to walk back also from Mall Rd (25 mins walk). I wouldn’t recommend walking to Mall Rd as it’s an uphill walk (unless you are up for it).

We have 3 days' holidays in the hotel with family. Our overall experience is fantastic. The staff is very nice and helpful. They all are so friendly. Provide me room neat & clean. If in the future I come to Shimla would like to stay again. Thanks to all team members.
