We stayed at Aapli wadi during the Republic day holidays for 2 nights. We drove from Thane to this wonderful home stay, we had to ask a couple of places for directions. There are two buildings here with one building housing 4 rooms (two on first floor and two on ground floor). the second building is a mini bungalow and generally allotted to a crowd size of 10 or more. Initially we were allotted a room on the first floor which had no balcony (only this room had no balcony, rest have) but later on request the hosts graciously accommodated us on the ground floor room which had balcony. It felt serene to be amongst the nature as the home stay is built in a plantation of more than an acre. The rooms were neat and clean with all basic amenities. The food would cost separately and not included in the room rent. We were treated to delicious ukdi che modak on day 1 lunch. We bought the sea food directly from jetty and the hosts offered to cook the same for us at nominal cost. the food preparation was outstanding and lip smacking. The beach is 400 mtrs from the home stay and one can walk though the wadi's to reach the shore. There is parking space for only 3 vehicles,
The hosts Mr Vasant Tapale and his wife were very helpful and took care of our requests. Special thanks to Mr Mohan the care taker who went to lengths to make our stay.comfortable. Mr Vasant was very helpful in suggesting the routes to take and avoid on our return journey.
I would recommend this home stay to all.
The place is small, about 2-3 rooms and a bungalow accommodation. But located very close to the beach - about 5 minutes walk. The place offers a car park for those who wish to drive down to this location
They serve excellent home made food. They cook the food custom for you. It is hygienic and tasty. Those who want a flavour of marathi food can give this a try.
Rooms are simple and basic. But when you are Shrivardhan, who wants to stay in their room?
Aapli Wadi is a very well organized property. The rooms are clean with all basic amenities like cable, western toilets, hot water, A/C's. The dining area is well laid out with good quality swings for children.
The food was disappointing. Although the caretaker (Mohan) brought fresh raw supplies on order but the cooking was very ordinary. While the fried fish and dry chicken were O.K. as the meat was fresh, the curries and veg. food were inedible. We had to hunt for alternative options outside.
The location is a 10 minute leisurely walk from Shrivardhan beach. The owner called me on Sunday to take orders for food but did not take my calls after we had arrived there on Monday. A single caretaker runs the place as well as he can and the owner is not reachable. Stay here during the week only if you have personal transport and are a large group.
we were around 10 peoples in my families and choose this place on the riviews on Tripadviser, it was around 5 hrs to drive from thane, its best destination to celebrates with families , rooms and halls in bungalow are very clean and maintained. kitchen also clean and higenic, Mr. tapale personally look into managements.
Food are also good, i need to suggest one thing they provide tea and snaks complementry to guests and also charge the food rates as per aapli wadi culture. not as per hotels.
Value for Money: Excellent
Service - Good, Friendly
Location - Good, Beach is quiet near.
Room Size: Compact.
Amenities: Basic AC / TV
Toiletries - Towel, Soap.
Dining Area: Average, Could do with a Face-lift.
This would feel more like your relative's or a friend's place rather than a hotel. Jayesh Dighe - the owner was very helpful right from the booking to guiding us to find the place, checking the train timings, bus, rickshaw everything.
The Manager was friendly and nice to talk to.
Since we had taken the trip during the monsoons and being an off season it wasn't much crowded, and we had the hotel to us most of the time.
Though there are not much to roam within the hotel campus, the beach is like 5 to 10 mins walking which is pretty awesome.
The main road where the shops are at is another 10-15 mins walking from the hotel and around 5 drive or by an auto. So the location of the hotel is good and in a quiet locality still near to key points.
Food was great, everything was prepared as per our choice. We even requested for Solkadhi and it was prepared promptly and it was delicious. In our two day stay we tried crabs, solkadhi, chicken and even Modak!! Breakfast was good too.
The room was compact, enough for two of us and w had no issues with that but a slightly bigger room would have been nice.
Being monsoon season there were frequent power cuts but the FAN and LIGHTS were hooked onto a generator which was such a relief.
Some room slippers, a brush paste kit, if provided would be great.
Finally, its a nice budget place with a good location and good food.
