As Sivasagar is very small town here accommodation facility is limited. It it is a average one hotel among the available. Food is not so good and there are behavioral problems with the staff. Popularly known as "sky chef" situated in AT road , Sivasagar at the chowk of Ganakpatty road. The hotel can be easily recognisable from traffic. There is a restaurant also though foods are not tasty and too much masala they add.
Mr. Lohit Baruah( Manager ) who asked me to shut up in front of other guest and employee. Reason: I was waiting for 45 min to pay the bill by CC/DC. As per him my card was block, but reality was that the machine was not running.. he asked me to go to ATM for paying the bill. After repeated intimation given by the staff to him, he took 20 min to come to reception area from gym which is in the next building. He was busy at gym. Finally the payment was made by CC after lot of trying. He was not even properly dressed. This is a matter of reputation for a very nice hotel like Shiva Palace.....Tips for travelers : If you don't carry cash, please find another hotel...
A place to spend quality time with friends in a amicable ambient.

Staff - friendly.
Special platters on festive time .especially sea food and matka items .
Well they give dessert of their choice during birthday party as complementary. But those are for special customers only.
We first arrived extremely tired from a long days drive. They immediately recognized we were not locals and tried pressuring us into paying for the more expensive rooms (2500INR+), despite us knowing (from reading reviews, photos, and tariffs online) that the rooms they were offering us were closer to 1000INR in price.
We managed to get to a reasonable price (1500INR) for the given room, but the beds were hard, the room was dusty and not well kept, the bathroom smelled unclean and the "hot" shower was cold. The walls were thin and over all the place was noisy and felt unsafe.
We explained that we needed laundry done, and intended on leaving the next day, but would extend to an extra day if they could get our clothes cleaned. They assured us the laundry would be done by the following evening.
Half way through the day the staff returned with only the female clothes, saying they were not going to wash them, when asked why they refused to answer.
When I went to the management they assured me they would wash my clothes only to return them hours later, stating that it was now too late in the day to do any laundry and that my husbands clothes would take an extra 12 hours to wash leaving us with no clean clothes for the night. Whenever my husband was not with me the management was extremely aggressive and disrespectful, I felt threatened and unsafe.
The next day well over 24 hours of having the clothes, they returned both wet and foul smelling. When we spoke to the management about this, they admitted fault saying that they didnt have their laundry staff and would take care of the bill.
While we were leaving, the two managers followed us to our vehicle and verbally slandered us for not paying the laundry, continually disrespecting me whenever I tried to speak or defend my husband. Telling me to watch my mouth and to know my place and not to speak when men are speaking.
Due to their incompetence and lack of morals they over charged us an extra day in the room, cost us a day of our long planned trip, caused a great amount of stress, later went back on their word and tried to make us pay for the laundry, were extremely disrespectful and left us with wet and dirty laundry.
If you are a woman traveling or are traveling with your mother, daughter, sister or wife do not stay at this disgusting hotel if you value or respect them!
