Amidst the mountains and river flowing by this property is in the laps of the nature. We had booked 4 deluxe river facing rooms and we were awestruck with the spectacular view. The rooms are neat, well furnished with 24 hours hot water facility. The management was kind enough to accommodate us by early checkin as we had reached Sonmarg much before the regular checkin time. The restaurant manager was a very kind and humble person who managed to completely satisfy our tastebuds as per our requirements (even in the shortage of supply due to Srinagar curfew). There is a small lawn outside the rooms where a small tea table with chairs are kept to enjoy the beauty of the nature while relaxing in the resort. Must stay place in Sonmarg.

Enroute from Kargil to Srinagar we took a halt to see beautiful Sonmarg with a lunch halt at Snowland resort restaurant. Superb veg. Biryani with Kashmiri Dum alooit was lip smacking. Then we were not allowed to resume our trip to Srinagar as there was curfew in Srinagar so no cars were allowed. This was a nightmare as all hotels were full. We went to the Sindh Resorts and met the most amazing and helpful person I have ever met Mr. Bashir (GM) of the hotel. He arranged two rooms for us and with complimentary dinner and arranged transport as my Leh driver was scared to finish the journey. Thanks to him and his efficient staff. This place is beautiful well located,with a scintillating view, good service and awesome people. Can go on and on but would love to go there in winter.

Due to the recent Kashmir disturbances, we had to leave Srinagar at the dead of night to avoid any untoward trouble enroute. Our path was strewn with pelted stones and uprooted tree fences from the morning, a grim reminder of what happened during the daytime. We reached this hotel late in the night, around 2.30 am. Despite our booking valid from 12 noon, the hotel staff were extremely cooperative and provided us a room approximately 10 hours in advance without charging a single extra penny. They were graceful, courteous, and dignified despite having to wake up in the middle of the night, and helped us through the check in process with a smile and absolute warmth while rubbing their sleep-deprived eyes. I wanted to know their names so that I could write a review later. They were young Kahmiri lads, named Owais Ahmad and Irshad Ahmad, and God/Allah bless them and their families forever for being such great people at such young age. When we climbed the stairs to our rooms, we were astounded to see the splendor and decor of the rooms, their large size, and the spotlessly clean bathrooms with superior class fittings. The room boys, Irshad and Hilal, were also equally courteous and made some tea for us, telling us that we looked dead tired. And that was at 3 a.m. in the morning! They made sure that our room was properly equipped with tea bags, water bottles etc. and then called out to sleep a few hours before the hotel woke up and they got busy again. We woke up to a brilliant sunshine and saw our room facing a meadow with a gently sloping hill and a cascading glacier down its slopes. There were horses grazing on the foothills, and if there ever truly was a paradise then this would have to be it! We went for breakfast in a neatly appointed restaurant opposite the hotel within its premises. the food was standard vegetarian fare, but the staff here again were warm and courteous. On the return leg from Amarnath, we were again stuck at Sonmarg because of the ongoing curfew prevailing at Srinagar and the ban on road travel. We went to this hotel again early in the morning, and despite us not having any bookings, they again checked us in well before the scheduled checkin time. We were provided rooms in a different block this time, but again, these rooms were great. This block was serviced by Irfan and Jaishankar, again some of the best room boys we have ever come across like Irshad and Hilal from the previous day, and were totally bowled over by their warmth, efficiency and that attitude of staff that makes a property great-service with a smile! Before ending this review, I need to put in a few words about the captain who served the adjoining non- vegetarian restaurant at Hotel Snowland. If there ever was a graceful captain managing the affairs of a restaurant, this person had to be him. I never found out his name, but could feel the famed Kashmiri hospitality exuding from him. We wanted to try the Wazwan, and knowing the situation in Srinagar, we knew that that would be a pipe-dream. This gentleman made sure we had the best Wazwan and even added some dishes as complementary without us asking for them. For instance, in the morning, he gave us Firni, and in the evening despite our meal plan covering buffet dinner, he sent some heavenly mutton yakni our way without charging anything extra. These are all evidences of a great hotel with happy and cooperative staff. This attitude only comes with proper management, and this review is my tribute to the management of one of the greatest properties in the Kashmir valley. I wish them well, especially the unnamed manager at the restaurant in Hotel Snowland, room boys Irshad, Hilal, Irfan and Jaishankar, front office boys Owais and Irshad, and their benign general manager who was always smartly dressed in crisp suits and polished shoes with a smile pasted on his face, assuring us every moment that we were safe in his property and he and his staff would go that extra mile to serve us wholeheartedly. May this property prosper eternally and continue to exude that warmth that only relatives and close friends do. I wish to return here again some day!

Looovveeddd the food here. We were a little late for lunch, reached the restaurant around 3pm, and were with kids. 7 of us were very hungry and wanted to eat Kashmiri food. Staff was very friendly and humble. we got what we wanted and loved the food. Goshtaba, rista, malai kofta, lachha parantha, all was yumm. We finished our lunch with a hot cup of tea.

we 5 pax family checked in on 26 june 16 , best hotel property in sonmarg town good rooms we booked family suite facing river it was good ,large infrastructure spread including their other hotel snowland lawns are good with fountain and lighting in night .one big drawback is there is no person to lookafter once you checked in no one from management ever tried to ask us about our stay even after contacting their Srinagar office ,waiters are nearly non existant we faced water crises in morning no response if you are non veg eater then ready to trek half km to the other side resturant which serve the n veg food. The large property with excelent infrastructure wants attention but the OWNER i think is not intersted only he is still stuck in Hindi movie Bhaijaan as Salman khan and Kareena kapoor stayed there while shooting ,every nook and corner is full of their posters with owner even the staff are also whole day speak only about their stay . I will be forced to say to Mr Owner this is your Rozi Roti so please give some attention to this wonderfull property. Hope if God wiill we visit we want to see improvement in your service as we will definately stay here only.
