The hotel is nice, rooms are quite spacious and as such near to perfect with the problem of the phone in one room as not working and hot water which even after our complaint on the first day was not provided on the second day as well. The room location was just average with no view. Breakfast was available on order or sometimes buffet and food was nice.
we are booked at the Hotel from 17th Dec 2018- 21st Dec 2018. The Location is good. And so is the helpful staff. but he facilities are not upto the mark. MOST SURPRISING: on the second day we found no drinking water in the room. when I enquired I was told that the water is complimentary only on the first day. 2nd day onwards its chargeable. This is something I have heard for the first time. The hotels either don't give complimentary drinking water at all or give for all days. this was surprising , on the second day.
Mentioned in the amenities is Welcome Drink, but we didn't get.
Because of the low occupancy there is no Buffet Breakfast, just a few things on order.
The property is good and nice, very nice location, but he services are not good at all. the staff is helpful but cant do much. I think the owner is not bothered and left it out on the staff. They should upgrade their services. since the location is excellent, close to most of the places, they should take good advantage of it .
internet disconnects every now and then.
The stay at Hotel Clarks Inn, Srinagar, for a night, 15-16, Nov,2018,for our family was a good one. Very much liked the ambience and the decor in the lobby area and restaurant. The food in the restaurant, ala carte, as few guests were present in the hotel, was quite delicious. The room was bare enough to accommodate the three adults, and the washroom too was small sized though not lacking in the modern fittings & fixtures.
However, the booking over phone at the Delhi office was not a pleasant experience. The Dy Sales Manager would agree to a lower room tariff but would quote a higher price in the confirmatory mail. The follow up mails and phone calls would be responded with fake assurances about the necessary tariff correction. The man at the reception desk would know nothing of the lower room rent and you end up paying the higher tariff.
On return even the follow up mails or phone calls would be of no help. Adding insult to injury, the smart Dy Sales Manager would not remember about the lower tariff that he had committed.
Moral: The Srinagar property is good for a short stay for the budget traveller, but one is well advised to book it either online or directly from the hotel in Srinagar.
Avoid the booking through central reservation team at the Delhi/NCR office, if you belong to this territory.
The hotel is a small one which looks quite nice in the exterior with helpful staff. The rooms, however are really small and there is no view, the hotel being surrounded by a residential area. We stayed here for a night and to my surprise, there was no electricity throughout the night. Thankfully the room was well heated by the time it went off so we could survive through the night. In the morning, woke up to a customer yelling at the reception for this reason. There was no breakfast buffet at the restaurant when I went for the same and there was no staff there also. A customer was sitting there with a disappointed face and had ordered something ala carte is what she told me.
The hotel really needs to improve it's standards. It has full potential to do that.
I stayed in this hotel in month of April for 2 nights. Experience was good with this hotel. Location was good, close to other places like residency road. Staff was help-full. Staff was giving personnel touch to customers, that is really appreciable. Food was good. Rooms were neat and clean. It is small but nice property.
