We were 9 friends to visit (j&k leh Ladakh) with the help of a lifetime trip India. Starting from Srinagar we stay at here. 1st we were greeted by the captain of boat Wasim and he offered us Srinagar special saffron tea and what a tea keep it up Wasimbhai. The view from the boat deck was speechless. All the facilities available at houseboat were more than any 4star hotel room. The peace at this place and the warm welcome what a start of our trip to j&k. This people have heart of gold always smiling face and ready to help. Food was awesome. Every single Penny you spent is justified. I must suggest this property and enjoy the hospitality with the view.
This houseboat is on the pristine Nigeen Lake, not the highly commercial Dal Lake. And along with some of the adjoining properties, it has the best views of the snow-clad mountains (see pictures). What is even better, the lakes are inter-connected, so you can take a shikara and spend a few hours in the famous Meena Bazaar on the Dal Lake or the early morning vegetable market. If you have your own car, you can park it next to the houseboat, else you take a shikara from Ghat no. 1. Mr Maqsood Madarie is an excellent host who also helped us with our accommodation in Sonamarg. Among the many staff members who took care of us, special mention must be made of Waseem who took great care in ensuring we had a comfortable stay.
An amazing memorable experience on the houseboat in a very calm and peaceful ambience, where the view is awfully beautiful, including all the friendly people who have served us there.
I can suggest you all to visit at least once to this land of paradise if you haven't been there.
The best experience in Srinagar was at the houseboat. Beautiful view of Nigeen lake, excellent hospitality, clean n tidy room n washroom made the experience memorable for a lifetime. Special thanks to Imraan for all the services.
We stayed there for two nights, first when we we reached srinangar then on our way back from Pahalgam. A very good houseboat with all modern amenities. Before going to Srinagar, my boss, who happens to be an Indian, discouraged me to stay in a houseboats, because of less maintenance and cleanliness and believe I was a bit skeptical initially. After so many online research I discovered this place and guess what we are very pleased to choose this property.
Manzur, Waseem and Masood Uncle helped our stay a memorable one. If i ever visit Srinagar again, I will definitely choose New Jacquline heritage houseboats.
Worth every penny we spend.
